Kitty Corner Café
Billings, Montana
Kitty Corner Café is a nonprofit cat cafe on Shiloh Road in Billings' West End, opened in 2025. It houses a group of permanent resident cats alongside adoptable cats from Rimrock Humane Society, and visitors can apply to adopt a cat directly in the cafe after getting to know it. Visits are charged by the hour, with punch cards and a loyalty card for regular guests; reservations are not required but strongly recommended. Because of health rules nothing is prepared on site, so the cafe sells prepackaged snacks and drinks and lets guests bring their own non-alcoholic food and drink, as long as it is kept away from the cats. Children 13 and under must be with an adult, and children under 2 are not admitted. The cafe hosts events such as cat fashion shows and can be booked for birthday parties and private gatherings.

The Downtown Cat Café
Grand Junction, Colorado
The Downtown Cat Café is a cat cafe on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction, run by The Downtown Cat Company, a cat-only business that also offers grooming and overnight boarding. Opened in August 2025, the cafe has adoptable rescue cats from the nonprofit Loma Cat House roaming the room, often a couple of dozen at a time, with cat toys and board games for guests. Baristas serve espresso drinks, other hot and cold drinks, and pastries and cookies from local bakers. Entry is charged per person per hour. Walk-ins are accepted, but booking ahead is recommended, especially on weekends. The minimum age is 8, with exceptions for well-behaved children by arrangement, and children under 12 must come with an adult. Every cat in the cafe can be adopted on any day, with the paperwork done on site so the cat can go home the same visit.

Surf Cat Ranch
Haiku, Hawaii
Surf Cat Ranch is a nonprofit cat sanctuary on nearly eight acres off Kokomo Road in Haiku, on Maui's north shore. It gives a permanent home to feral, community and hard-to-place cats from around the island, including cats displaced by the 2023 Lahaina fire, and currently cares for more than 300 of them in fenced enclosures. The sanctuary also runs a trap-neuter-return program across Maui and refers tame cats and kittens to the local humane society, though a few of its own cats are listed for adoption or sponsorship. It is not a cafe: visitors book a guided tour of the grounds with the owners or volunteers and spend time petting and playing with the cats, and a donation is expected. Tours run on weekday mornings by reservation, and the gate closes at noon. Visitors may bring cat treats.

Crazy Cat Rescue
Anchorage, Alaska
Crazy Cat Rescue is a small nonprofit cat rescue with a home-style cat lounge and gift shop on East 72nd Avenue in south Anchorage. Founded in 2022, it keeps its cats cage-free in a living-room setting where they are socialized with each other, with other animals and with children, and it welcomes visitors who want to relax with the cats as well as those hoping to adopt. Visits last an hour, cost a small fee and are by appointment, booked online for weekend afternoons; other times can be arranged by email. Complimentary self-serve coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks are offered while a full cafe is being built. Most of the cats are available for adoption, and adopters complete an application and visit their chosen cat several times before the adoption is finalized. Cocoa Kitties Catio
Palmyra, Pennsylvania
Cocoa Kitties Catio is the indoor cat lounge of Cocoa Kitties, an all-volunteer cat rescue based near Hershey, on West Main Street in Palmyra. Visits last about 50 minutes and are booked online for a small donation that includes coffee or hot chocolate, and walk-ins are possible when space allows. Guests wear socks in the lounge, may bring their own food but should not feed the cats, and children aged 5 and up must be supervised by an adult. All cats are available for adoption through the rescue, and visit fees help pay for veterinary care, food and litter. The Catio also hosts a free monthly silent book club with the cats.
