Crossroads Cat Café
Nashville, Tennessee
Crossroads Cat Café is a nonprofit coffee shop and cat adoption room on Buchanan Street in the Buchanan Arts District of North Nashville, run by Crossroads Campus, which pairs animal rescue with paid job training for young adults overcoming homelessness. The cafe serves specialty coffee, breakfast sandwiches, salads, pastries and ice cream, and the baristas are interns in the training program. Adoptable cats from Crossroads' own rescue live in a room behind a large viewing window that anyone can watch from the cafe; to go in and play with them, visitors book a session online for a modest fee. Anyone who connects with a cat can start an adoption through Crossroads. The cafe hosts a free open mic night on the second Wednesday of each month and a cat-themed story and craft hour for children on the second Saturday, and it can be booked for parties and meetings.

Atlanta Humane Society Roswell
Roswell, Georgia
Atlanta Humane Society Roswell is a cat adoption and community center on Mansell Road in Roswell, in Atlanta's northern suburbs near GA-400. Opened by the Atlanta Humane Society at the start of 2025, it is set up as a place to hang out as much as a place to adopt: alongside rooms of adoptable cats, there is a coffee bar, free Wi-Fi, a lounge area and a small shop of cat-themed goods, and visitors are welcome to drop in to spend time with the cats whether or not they plan to adopt. Anyone who finds a match can adopt on the spot through the Humane Society's usual process, with the cats already vetted. The center runs frequent free events, from mahjong lessons to dog adoption days, and hosts a weekly low-cost vaccine clinic for cats and dogs on Thursdays. It does not accept animal surrenders.

Pink Paws Cat Café
Jacksonville, Florida
Pink Paws Cat Café is a cat cafe and bakery in the BJ's shopping plaza on Atlantic Boulevard in east Jacksonville. It opened in October 2026. The front cafe serves coffee, ceremonial matcha, boba drinks, imported French croissants and other pastries and breakfast items, and guests can then go into a pink, storybook-themed cat lounge to spend time with the cafe's resident cats. Unlike most cat cafes in the area, the cats are pedigree residents rather than rescues waiting for adoption, with breeds such as Maine Coons and Savannahs among them. The cafe is aimed at coffee dates, family outings and groups of friends, and it is open every day.
Bold Kitty Cafe
Jacksonville, Florida
Bold Kitty Cafe is a cat lounge inside the City of Jacksonville's Animal Care and Protective Services shelter on Forest Street, west of downtown Jacksonville. The shelter opened the room, together with a community cat room, in July 2026 as a place where visitors can relax with adoptable shelter cats, not only meet a cat they plan to adopt. Guests are encouraged to bring their own coffee or a book and settle in among the cats; the lounge does not sell food or drinks. All the cats are in the care of the city shelter and are waiting for homes, and adoptions are handled by shelter staff on site. The lounge follows the shelter's public hours, every day from noon to 7 PM. It is one of the few places in Jacksonville to spend time with cats since the Caffeinated Cat in Jacksonville Beach closed in April 2026.

Furry Friends Cafe
Jupiter, Florida
Furry Friends Cafe is a small cafe inside the Jupiter adoption center of Furry Friends Humane, a nonprofit animal rescue on Capital Street in Jupiter, in northern Palm Beach County. Opened in early 2026 in the center's boutique, it invites visitors to have a drink, browse the shop or work on a laptop, and to spend time playing with the rescue's adoptable cats in the cat rooms, which are large and well equipped. The cafe counter keeps shorter hours than the adoption center, serving from Wednesday to Sunday in the late morning, while the center and its cat rooms are open every day. Children must be supervised in the cat rooms at all times, guests are asked not to chase or disturb resting cats, and parties or group gatherings need prior approval. Adoptions of cats and dogs are arranged on site.

The Whisker Society
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
The Whisker Society is a nonprofit cat lounge and café on South Main Street in downtown Oconomowoc, in the Lake Country area of Waukesha County west of Milwaukee. Opened in 2026, it hosts adoptable cats from partner adoption organizations in a library-inspired lounge, which frees space at the partners' shelters while the cats wait for homes. The café serves coffee drinks made with locally made syrups, plus snacks, with no reservation needed, while lounge visits are booked in advance in morning and afternoon blocks, with a midday break when the cats are left to nap. The café and lounge are separate spaces with their own ventilation, and covered drinks can be carried into the lounge. A touch screen introduces each cat, and all of them can be adopted through the partner groups. The lounge also hosts events with local organizations.

Cafe Purrfection
Naperville, Illinois
Cafe Purrfection is a cat café due to open in mid-November 2026 on North Route 59 in Naperville, in a strip mall near McDowell Road, close to the Block 59 development and Fox Valley Mall. It will have a coffee counter open to walk-ins and a separate room where up to 10 adoptable cats from the Animal Rescue Foundation, a volunteer-run rescue based in Wheaton, will live while they wait for homes. Coffee drinks, Lotus energy drinks, refreshers and prepackaged snacks will be sold, many with cat-themed names. Time in the cat room will be sold separately from drinks, and booking a slot in advance is encouraged for anyone who wants to spend time with the cats. Adoptions will go through the rescue, which places more than 1,000 cats and dogs a year, mostly from foster homes. Cafe Purrfection is the first cat café in Naperville.

Whimsical Whiskers CatFae & Rescue
Uniontown, Ohio
Whimsical Whiskers CatFae & Rescue is a rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary with a cat lounge on Cleveland Avenue NW in Uniontown, between Akron and Canton. It began in June 2024 on South Arlington Road in Green and has since moved to this larger site. Many of the resident cats arrive needing medical care or time to learn to trust people, and the lounge gives them a calm place to socialise while they wait for adoption. Visitors pay a cover charge per half hour, with family, senior, teen group and monthly membership rates, and no reservation is needed. Everyone signs a waiver, which can be completed online beforehand, and a photo ID is held during the visit. Coffee, smoothies, teas and occasional treats are sold to support the cats. The CatFae's nonprofit arm, Whisper In Time Companion Rehoming, rehomes pets whose owners are entering hospice, assisted living or nursing care.

8 Cats Cincinnati
Cincinnati, Ohio
8 Cats Cincinnati is a bed and breakfast, tea house and event venue in a restored 1885 Victorian mansion on Wilson Avenue in Avondale, home to eight resident cats. Rather than a walk-in cafe, it runs ticketed tea sessions that are open to the public: a traditional afternoon tea with cats is held most weekends, a Crazy Cat Lady Tea takes place on the second Tuesday of each month, and candlelight high teas run on select Fridays, alongside children's teas and seasonal themed teas. Its house-blended teas are named after the cats and served with sandwiches, scones and pastries. The cats wander through the tea room and common areas and greet guests before and after the service. Other ticketed events include yoga and sound baths with the cats, crafting and bingo. Guests can also stay overnight in three rooms or a poolside apartment, which is kept cat-free.

Cats N'At
Wexford, Pennsylvania
Cats N'At is a cat lounge, adoption center and boutique in Wexford, in Pittsburgh's North Hills, which moved to a single-floor building on Shenot Road, about two miles from its first site. It takes in homeless cats to ease overcrowding in local shelters and houses them in a free-roaming cat lounge until they are adopted. Visitors book sessions by the half hour or hour, and drop-ins are welcome during opening hours, though reservations get priority. Children aged 3 and over are welcome. Besides regular visits, the lounge runs therapy-style sessions such as coloring with the cats, and it can be booked for private parties. The entrance is at the side of the building by the parking spaces, with more parking at the rear. All the cats are adoptable, and the lounge also sells cat-themed goods.

Rescue and Relax
Edgewood, Pennsylvania
Rescue and Relax is a volunteer-run nonprofit on East Swissvale Avenue in Edgewood, just east of Pittsburgh's city line, that combines a cat lounge, a small rescue shelter and a resource hub for cat owners. The lounge is open to guests of all ages from Friday to Sunday afternoons and evenings, and visitors can simply relax with the adoptable cats or begin an adoption application. Entry works on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested donation per person that helps pay for vet bills, food and rent. Snacks and cold drinks are available, and outside food and drink are allowed. The lounge hosts cat yoga twice a month and social evenings such as board game nights, with proceeds going to the medical care of the rescue's neediest cats. Whisker Wonderland Cat Lounge
Bellevue, Pennsylvania
Whisker Wonderland is a cat lounge and adoption center on North Balph Avenue in Bellevue, just northwest of Pittsburgh, opened in early 2025 by artist and rescuer Anna Montano. The lounge is decorated with murals by local artists and handmade climbing structures built from repurposed materials, and it is home to rescued community cats that are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and tested before adoption. Visitors pay an hourly entrance fee to pet the cats, work or study, spend time with friends or look for a cat to adopt. Booking ahead is best, and walk-ins are taken as space allows. The lounge puts an emphasis on inclusion, and quieter time slots can be arranged for visitors with sensory needs or disabilities. It also offers free classes on trap-neuter-return, events for children and adults with local businesses, and birthday parties.
