The House Cat

The House Cat is a cat cafe on 27th Street in downtown Ogden, a few blocks south of Historic 25th Street. Founded by longtime friends Christine Otterstrom, a zoologist and barista, and Jenny Wilcox, a culinary school-trained baker, it pairs an espresso bar using locally roasted coffee and house-baked quiches, cookies and bars with a separate cat lounge. All of the lounge cats come from Weber County Animal Services, arrive spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and are adopted through the shelter. Lounge visits are timed, are currently walk-in only and carry a small admission fee, and guests sign a waiver and may bring their food and drinks into the lounge. Kittens too small to live in the lounge sometimes visit while they grow. The cafe also sells handmade merchandise, hosts events and takes private group bookings.
