K's Catnip Corner Cat Lounge
K's Catnip Corner Cat Lounge is a free-roaming cat and kitten lounge in downtown Toms River, run by the nonprofit K's Kitten Rescue in a former bank drive-through on Main Street. It was created in memory of the rescue's late president, Louise Wootton, who kept a cat room for students at Georgian Court University. Vetted foster kittens and cats from the rescue visit the lounge to socialize with people, and those met there can be adopted through the rescue's application. Visitors pay a small day rate, with student pricing and memberships for regulars, and walk-ins are welcome when the lounge is not fully booked. There is seating for about 20, plus books, games and Wi-Fi, and packaged snacks and drinks are sold. A waiver is required and children under 14 need an adult. The lounge also hosts silent book clubs, craft nights and private parties.
