As Cleveland’s first cat cafe, affoGATO’s mission is to improve our city by creating a safe, comfortable haven for adoptable cats, cultivating a fun and inclusive space for cat-lovers to work and play, and teaming up with other local businesses and artists for the betterment of the community as a whole. We provide a safe home for adoptable cats. You can then pay a small cover charge to relax, play, and work alongside these fantastic felines. We partner with several local businesses and artists in order to host fun, unique events and produce food, drinks, and merchandise. We're more than a cafe. We strive to be the heart of our community by bringing together cats, people, and businesses for the benefit of all. However, while we take pride in everything we do, from our excellent customer service to our high-quality and ethically sourced cafe treats, our greatest passion is cat welfare, socialization, and adoption.

Gem City Catfé is a nonprofit cat cafe offering a cage-free lounge with up to 18 adoptable rescue cats from its 501(c)(3) partner, Gem City Kitties. Visitors can book one-hour sessions for $10 per person ($5 for kids 12 and under) to spend time with the cats in a cozy, carpeted space designed for play and relaxation, supporting the cafe’s mission to find them homes—over 500 adoptions since opening in 2018. Kitty Brew Cat Café is a cat café located at 6011 Tylersville Road, Suites 6-7, in Mason, Ohio, where visitors can spend time with adoptable cats from local rescues like Animal Friends Humane Society and His Hands Extended Sanctuary. Founded by Jenni Barrett, it opened on April 9, 2017, as Greater Cincinnati’s first cat café and has since facilitated nearly 1,300 adoptions. The café has two separate areas: a lounge where guests can interact with cats for $13 per hour (plus tax), and a coffee shop offering organic, fair-trade coffee, teas, and snacks like cookies and paninis. The cats are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and a live webcam lets people watch them online anytime. Open Monday through Saturday from noon to 6 or 7 p.m. (depending on the day) and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., reservations are recommended due to the 14-person limit in the lounge.

Cats Off the Square

Cats Off the Square is a cat cafe run by the Alleycats & Aristocats adoption center in Northeast Ohio. The center has two free-roaming areas for the cats and kittens that are available for adoption. Community members and adopters can visit and play with the cats in these areas. All of the cats are sterilized, vaccinated, wormed, flea-treated and microchipped before being placed for adoption. Their goal is to stop the endless cycle of unfixed homeless cats that multiply exponentially in the community, and since starting their rescue in January 2022, they have successfully adopted 1038 cats to indoor homes.
