The Mad Catter Café
The Mad Catter Café is an Alice in Wonderland-themed cat cafe on North Arch Avenue in downtown Alliance, in the building behind the Feline Historical Museum that was formerly Mad Dogs and Crazy Cats. Under new owners it reopened in autumn 2026. Cats and kittens live in the cat lounge and its jungle room, which is streamed live on Twitch, and all of them are looking for homes, so visitors can adopt, sponsor a cat or donate. Lounge admission is charged per person, with a lower rate for children aged 5 to 12. Reservations are highly recommended, and walk-ins are welcome when there is space. The cafe area is open to everyone and has tables for games or laptop work, free Wi-Fi, self-serve hot tea and fresh popcorn, with boba tea planned. It is open Wednesday to Saturday, and Sundays are by reservation only.

Uniontown, Ohio16 mi / 26 km
Whimsical Whiskers CatFae & Rescue is a rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary with a cat lounge on Cleveland Avenue NW in Uniontown, between Akron and Canton. It began in June 2024 on South Arlington Road in Green and has since moved to this larger site. Many of the resident cats arrive needing medical care or time to learn to trust people, and the lounge gives them a calm place to socialise while they wait for adoption. Visitors pay a cover charge per half hour, with family, senior, teen group and monthly membership rates, and no reservation is needed. Everyone signs a waiver, which can be completed online beforehand, and a photo ID is held during the visit. Coffee, smoothies, teas and occasional treats are sold to support the cats. The CatFae's nonprofit arm, Whisper In Time Companion Rehoming, rehomes pets whose owners are entering hospice, assisted living or nursing care.

The nonprofit takes in strays and cats that need rehoming, works with trap-neuter-return groups to place friendly cats from feral colonies, and also finds homes for retired purebred cats from breeders.
