Good Day Cat Cafe
Good Day Cat Cafe is a woman-owned coffee shop and cat lounge on West Wooster Street in downtown Bowling Green, about half a mile from the Bowling Green State University campus. It began in 2023 as Tabby & Fidos, Northwest Ohio's first cat cafe, and later reopened under its new name at this address. The cafe is open to everyone without a booking and serves coffee, flavored drinks, frappés, smoothies and local baked goods, along with merchandise and products from local makers, free Wi-Fi and bar-top seating. A window looks into the separate lounge, where up to 12 adoptable cats from For The Love of Cats and the Wood County Humane Society roam free. Lounge visits need a reservation, though walk-ins are taken when there is space. The cafe sometimes closes during listed hours for holidays, private parties or bad weather and posts those closures on Facebook.

Ann Arbor, Michigan64 mi / 103 km
Tiny Lions Lounge & Adoption Center is a cat lounge on Jackson Road on the west side of Ann Arbor, reached by AATA bus route 30. It is run by the Humane Society of Huron Valley, and the cats living in the lounge are adoptable through the humane society, which shows them here in a home-like setting rather than in kennels. There is free Wi-Fi, café seating and a shop of cat-themed gifts. Capacity depends on how many cats are in that day. Avocato Catfé & Adoption Center is a volunteer-run cat café on Grand River Avenue in Farmington Hills, in Oakland County northwest of Detroit. It is operated by Pet Adoption Alternative of Warren (PAAW), a nonprofit rescue with no paid staff, and all proceeds go to the animals in its care. Catfé Lounge
Ferndale, Michigan79 mi / 127 km
The Catfé Lounge is the cat café of the Ferndale Cat Shelter, a nonprofit rescue on Livernois Street in Ferndale, just north of 8 Mile Road. Rather than partnering with a rescue, the lounge is run by the shelter itself, so almost every cat and kitten visitors meet is available for adoption. Admission covers an hour in the lounge and a self-serve coffee, tea or juice. Reservations are recommended because weekend sessions fill quickly, and up to about 15 people share a session. Guests sign a waiver and sanitize their hands on arrival, children under 7 must be closely supervised by a parent, and cats may only be given treats handed out by volunteers. Visitors who are not looking to adopt are welcome. The shelter also runs fostering, medical care and trap-neuter-return programs for cats across metro Detroit, and adoptions can be started at the lounge.

Black Forest Cat Café
Fort Wayne, Indiana79 mi / 127 km
Black Forest Cat Café is a family-run coffee shop and cat lounge in the JoAnn Plaza shopping center on Coldwater Road on the north side of Fort Wayne. A mother and daughter opened it in June 2022, and in August 2025 it celebrated its 1,000th adoption. The cafe serves coffee, specialty drinks and house-made pastries, with plant-based milk options, and anyone can use the large cafe area without visiting the cats. The woodland-themed cat lounge is separate, and its adoptable cats all come from Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. Lounge visits are booked online or taken as walk-ins when there is space. Adoption starts with the shelter's application form, and the cafe handles the meeting and paperwork on site. The lounge can also be booked for events, and the cafe accepts donations of food and litter for the cats.
