Meow Woo Studio
Richmond Hill, Ontario
Meow Woo Studio is a cat cafe and pet supply shop in a plaza on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, between 16th Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive. It first opened in Markham in 2024 and moved to this location in February 2025. The front cafe serves coffee, bubble tea, lattes and cakes, and the shop sells cat treats, supplies and pet clothing. Behind it is a large cat room with around 40 cats and kittens, a mix of breeds such as Devon Rex alongside cats the owner has taken in as strays or surrenders, and some of them can be adopted. Entry is a single flat fee that includes a drink, with no time limit. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the cat room. The studio is open every day until late evening and also offers cat boarding.

Purrfect Café
Toronto, Ontario
Purrfect Café is a cat cafe on McNicoll Avenue near Midland Avenue in northern Scarborough, opened in February 2026. Its cafe menu draws on the owners' Singaporean roots, with pandan, coconut and gula melaka flavours in drinks and cat-shaped desserts such as tofu pudding. A separate cat lounge, visible from the cafe through a large window, houses 15 to 20 rescue cats, and those in the lounge are available for adoption through Finally Home Cat Rescue. The lounge has a cat wheel, scratching posts and a quiet room for the cats. Visits are one-hour sessions for a fee, booked online or taken as walk-ins when space allows, with up to 16 guests at a time. Socks are required, shoe covers are provided, and food and drinks stay in the cafe. Children under 5 are not allowed in the lounge, and children aged 5 to 10 need a supervising adult.

The Cat Lounge at Glasshouse Nursery
Chatham, Ontario
The Cat Lounge is an enclosed cat room inside the Purrculator Cafe at the Glasshouse Nursery, a large garden centre and gift shop on Creek Road in Chatham. It opened in 2024 and is run by Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) together with the nursery. Every cat in the lounge is a PAWR shelter cat available for adoption, often an older, shy or overlooked cat that does better here than in a kennel. Visitors drop in without booking, make a small donation to PAWR and can bring in a coffee or snack from the cafe counter, which serves espresso drinks, muffins and croissants. Adoptions are completed at the PAWR shelter on Park Avenue East, two minutes away, and the lounge reached its 100th adoption in July 2026. Many visitors combine a session with a walk through the nursery's plant displays and boutique.

Wonder Pet Cafe
Toronto, Ontario
Wonder Pet Cafe is a cat and dog cafe on Queen Street West in downtown Toronto near Spadina Avenue, on the 501 Queen streetcar line. Opened in July 2025 by three women who began rescuing animals in 2022, it doubles as an adoption centre, and most of its cats and dogs are looking for homes. The cafe works closely with Wow Rescue, a rescue group in Wuhan, China, and other registered rescue partners, and a few of the animals belong to staff. Cats and dogs are kept in separate rooms, each visited in one-hour sessions with a staff member present, and admission covers one room. Higher tiers add a drink and dessert from the cafe, which serves coffee, milk tea and cakes. Online reservations take priority and walk-ins are admitted when space allows. Visitors under 18 need a parent or guardian with them.

Café Chato
Verdun, Quebec
Café Chato is a vegetarian cat cafe on Rue de Verdun, the main commercial street of Montreal's Verdun borough. Opened in 2018 and run as a cooperative, it works exclusively with Refuge Animex, and every cat in the cafe is available for adoption. Around ten cats live there at a time, so the residents change as they find homes. Cats roam freely among the tables, and the back of the cafe is reserved as a quiet area for them and the staff. There is no entry fee or booking: visitors order coffee, pastries or vegetarian dishes such as paninis, soups and curry, and purchases help fund the cats' care. Rules ask guests not to pick up or feed the cats, to keep noise down and to supervise children. Wi-Fi and outlets make it popular for studying, and private events can be booked after hours.

Uptown Purrk
Waterloo, Ontario
Uptown Purrk is a cat cafe on Princess Street East in Uptown Waterloo, a short walk from King Street and the Waterloo Public Square ION LRT stop. It opened in early 2026 as the first cat cafe in Kitchener-Waterloo. The cats come from Kitchener Stray Cat Rescue and are all available for adoption through the rescue, and the number in the lounge changes as cats are adopted and new ones arrive. Visits are by reservation only, booked online for a session in a bright, spacious cat room with toys, cat trees and quiet corners for shyer cats. Hot and cold drinks, including tea and hot chocolate, and cookies are sold on site. Staff know each cat's personality and introduce visitors to them, and children are welcome with their families. The cafe also hosts group visits for clubs and student groups.

Les Félins Gourmets, Café Lounge
Beauharnois, Quebec
Les Félins Gourmets is a cat cafe on Rue Ellice in Beauharnois, in the Beauharnois-Salaberry area southwest of Montreal. Opened in May 2025, it is a calm, cozy cafe where the cats live full time and roam the dining room while visitors eat. Several of the cats are rescues, some found as strays, and they are available for adoption under an arrangement with the rescue group Amiaou, with new arrivals introduced on the cafe's social media. The menu covers breakfast, lunch and drinks, with homemade dishes such as grilled cheese, coffee and lemonade at modest prices. Visitors can pet and play with the cats but are asked not to pick them up. The cafe is open from Thursday to Sunday, and children are welcome.

Café Félin Chats-Nous
Quebec City
Café Félin Chats-Nous is a small cat cafe on Rue Saint-Olivier in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste neighbourhood of Québec's Haute-Ville, a few minutes' walk from Rue Saint-Jean and the walls of Old Québec. It opened in March 2020 in a former corner store, and a mural on Rue Saint-Olivier recalls the neighbourhood's old Poulin grocery. Seven resident cats live in the cafe and wander freely among the tables, often lounging in the front windows. There is no entry fee; visitors order from a cafe menu of paninis, soups, salads, pastries, coffee drinks, smoothies and homemade lemonade, and on weekends a brunch menu of waffles, crêpes and French toast is served, with reservations taken by phone. Board games are available. The cafe is closed on Mondays.

Le Café Refuge
Levis, Quebec
Le Café Refuge is a specialty coffee shop and cat adoption cafe on Route des Rivières in the Saint-Rédempteur sector of Lévis, on the south shore across the Pont de Québec from Québec City. Opened in June 2025, it serves third-wave coffee, homemade sandwiches and pastries in a bright cafe room, with a glass-walled cat space in the middle of the cafe where visitors can go in to meet and pet the cats. The cats come from the SPA de Lévis, which arranges adoptions; around eight cats usually live in the cat space at a time, and when all have been adopted there may briefly be none. Visitors simply buy something from the cafe, and children are welcome as long as they stay with an adult and follow the cat-space rules. Board games are available, and a small boutique sells handmade cat-themed items. The cafe is open every day.

Refuge de la Faune de l'Estrie

Refuge de la Faune de l'Estrie is a non-profit animal shelter on Rue Achille-Barrière in Sherbrooke that works alongside Refuge Le Château, a cat shelter with a cat cafe corner, Café Chat L'Étoile. The cats live uncaged in a large, bright room where visitors can sit with them over a coffee or another drink, and they can be adopted by appointment. The shelter also cares for dogs, small animals and injured wildlife. Its social media is not updated often, so phone (819) 432-5599 before visiting.

ChatFé
Beauceville, Quebec
ChatFé is a volunteer-run cat cafe in Beauceville, in the Beauce region south of Québec City, operated by Refuge Ami-Maux, a shelter for stray cats. It opened in June 2023. Visitors buy a drink or snack or make a donation, in cash only, then spend time with the shelter's kittens, juniors and adult cats in a bright room where the cats mix freely with guests. Most of the cats are up for adoption, alongside a few permanent residents, and adoptions can be arranged on site; the money raised goes straight to rescuing and caring for stray cats in the Beauce. Cat-themed products are sold as well. The volunteers put the cats' health and safety first, so visitors are asked to follow their guidance; children must be over 6 and come with an adult, and shoes come off. Opening hours vary with volunteer availability and are posted on Refuge Ami-Maux's Facebook page and the ChatFé Instagram account, so it is best to check before visiting.

PETPLS
Richmond, British Columbia
PETPLS is a pet food and supply store with a cat room on No. 3 Road in central Richmond, steps from Richmond-Brighouse Canada Line station. Behind the shop, visitors can book time in a cat room shared by a mix of cats, some of them adoptable rescue cats fostered for Mountainside Hope Rescue. Visits are sold in half-hour and one-hour sessions, with up to eight guests per session, and advance booking is strongly recommended. Children under 5 are not admitted, and children 5 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Guests wear socks and sanitized slippers in the cat room. Visitors who want to adopt apply online through the cat's profile, and adopters get a lifetime store discount. The store sells food, treats, litter and supplies, supports local rescues and offers cat boarding. Free two-hour parking is in the building's garage, entered from Cook Road.
