Purrfect Pet Cafe
Thornhill, Ontario
Purrfect Pet Cafe is a cat cafe in a plaza on the north side of Steeles Avenue West in Thornhill, between Yonge and Bathurst streets on the border with North York, with parking on site. It was previously the North York branch of Lazy Cat Cafe and has run under its own name since the Lazy Cat franchise ended. The cafe serves coffee, matcha drinks, bubble tea and desserts, and a separate cat room is home to around ten cats, from a Maine Coon to younger cats. Most are resident cats, though the cafe occasionally has cats available for adoption. Visits are sold per person in tiers covering cat room entry alone, entry with a drink, or entry with a drink and dessert, each for a one-hour session, and children 12 and under need a parent or guardian. Online bookings take priority and walk-ins are admitted when space allows.

Whiskers Cat Café
Grande Prairie, Alberta
Whiskers Cat Café is a cat cafe on 105 Street in the north of Grande Prairie, in Alberta's Peace Region. It was founded in 2019 by Angie Plante. The cafe serves espresso drinks and light snacks at the counter, and a separate cat lounge holds a rotating group of adoptable cats and kittens from the Peace Regional SPCA, its only partner since 2025; for its first five years they came from Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue. Entry to the lounge is a flat fee per person that includes a drink, and bookings can be made by phone. Adoptions are arranged with the partner rescues, and more than 1,500 cats have been adopted from the cafe. The lounge also hosts occasional community events such as children's story time with the Grande Prairie Public Library.

Café Chat L'Heureux
Montreal, Quebec
Café Chat L'Heureux, also known as Happy Cat Café, is a cat cafe and restaurant on Avenue Duluth Est in the Plateau-Mont-Royal, a short walk from Boulevard Saint-Laurent. Opened in 2014, it was one of the first cat cafes in North America and is the original of its two branches. About eight resident cats, all adopted from shelters in Greater Montreal, roam the dining room, and since 2015 the cafe has also fostered young cats from the Proanima shelter in Boucherville until they are adopted. There is no booking: visitors walk in, order from a homemade menu of sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, smoothies and coffee, with waits likely on weekend afternoons. House rules ask guests not to pick up, wake or feed the cats, to avoid camera flash and to supervise children. In winter, shoes come off at the door because road salt is toxic to cats.

Café Chat L'Heureux (Rue Ontario)
Montreal, Quebec
The Rue Ontario branch of Café Chat L'Heureux is a cat cafe and restaurant on Rue Ontario Est in Centre-Sud, on the edge of Montreal's Village. It opened in October 2024 as the second location of the Plateau cat cafe that has operated on Avenue Duluth since 2014, in a space designed around the cats, with climbing areas and quiet zones out of reach of visitors. The cats come from shelters in Greater Montreal; some are permanent residents, while others are young cats from the Proanima shelter that can be adopted. The menu is the same as at the original cafe, with homemade sandwiches, grilled cheese, soups, desserts, smoothies, coffee and vegan options. There are no reservations or entry fee, and visitors can stay as long as they like. Guests are asked not to pick up, wake or feed the cats and to keep children supervised.

Catoro Cafe
Vancouver, British Columbia
Catoro Cafe is a rescue cat cafe, bubble tea shop and cat supply store on East Broadway in Mount Pleasant, East Vancouver. Its forest-themed lounge, the Cat Forest, houses 15 or more adoptable rescue cats who live there until they are adopted; the cats come from rescue partners and local surrender situations, including shy and semi-feral cats being socialized. Visits last 50 minutes and are charged per guest, and advance booking is strongly recommended. Children under 5, including infants, are not allowed in the Cat Forest, and visitors cannot bring their own pets. Up front it serves bubble tea and specialty drinks and sells cat supplies and merchandise. Opened in 2019 and run since 2023 by Annah van Eeghen and Daniel Wilson, Catoro has helped more than 1,800 cats find homes, and it hosts movie nights, craft afternoons, yoga and barre classes.

Cat Cafe on Whyte
Edmonton, Alberta
Cat Cafe on Whyte is a cat cafe at the east end of Whyte Avenue (82 Avenue) at 101 Street in Edmonton, across from the Goodwill. It opened on March 30, 2017 as Alberta's first permanent cat cafe. The cafe has a cat-free counter serving coffee from a nearby roaster, cat-themed drinks and treats from local peanut-free bakeries, and a separate two-level cat lounge. The cats come from the rescue SAFE Team: several long-term fosters live at the cafe, and the other cats are available for adoption through the rescue. Admission is charged per hour, varies by age and day of the week, and includes unlimited drinks from the menu. Walk-ins are welcome, and reservations by phone or email are recommended on weekends and for groups. Children are welcome with adult supervision, and socks are required in the lounge. Cat yoga is held on the last Saturday of each month.

Catfe
Vancouver, British Columbia
Catfe is a cat cafe on the second floor of International Village Mall, the shopping centre also known as Tinseltown, at West Pender and Abbott Streets where Chinatown meets Gastown, a short walk from Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station. Opened in December 2015 as Vancouver's first cat cafe, it keeps around 15 to 25 adoptable rescue cats in a sunny lounge beside a vegetarian cafe and a shop of cat supplies and gifts. The cats come from Heart & Soul Dog & Cat Rescue in Abbotsford, and Catfe has rehomed more than 2,000 of them. Visits are booked online in slots of just under an hour, with cheaper half-hour visits on weekday mornings. Visitors must be at least 5, and children up to 10 need an adult. The lounge closes from 2 PM to 3 PM daily for the cats' nap, and it reopened in December 2025 after a three-month renovation. Cat yoga and art workshops are held in the lounge, and customers get free parking under the mall.

My Kitty Cafe
Guelph, Ontario
My Kitty Cafe is a cat cafe on Wyndham Street North in downtown Guelph, a short walk from St. George's Square. The front of the shop is a variety store selling coffee, snacks and pet supplies, and behind it are two cat lounges, the Cottage and the Cabin, where adoptable cats from Rags to Riches Cat Rescue live while they wait for homes. It has worked with cat rescues since February 2016, which makes it one of Ontario's longest-running cat cafes. Visits are paid per person for sessions that start on the hour and last 50 minutes. Booking online guarantees a place, and walk-ins join when there is space. All ages are welcome on weekdays and ages four and up on weekends, and children 13 and under must come with an adult. Socks are required, cats may not be picked up, and visitors can eat while seated in the lounge.

Vintage Cat Cafe

Vintage Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto's Corso Italia neighbourhood, on the 512 St. Clair streetcar line between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue. Opened in 2024, it pairs a vintage-styled cafe, decorated with ornate wallpaper, mirrors, candlesticks and cat art, with a separate cat room where the cafe's resident cats live. The cafe side is open to everyone without a booking and serves espresso drinks, Turkish coffee, fresh juices, waffles, crêpes and sandwiches. Time with the cats is booked online in one-hour sessions, which include a complimentary coffee, tea or soft drink; walk-ins depend on space. Up to five guests share each session, children under 5 are not allowed in the cat room, and no food or drink goes in. Staff explain the house rules and hand out treats so visitors can feed the cats, and the cats have a private area where they can retreat from guests. The cafe is open every day except Tuesday.

Little Paws Cat Cafe
Haileybury, Ontario
Little Paws Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Ferguson Avenue in Haileybury, part of Temiskaming Shores on Lake Timiskaming. It was opened in November 2025 by local couple Bryan and Jennifer Borecki. The front of the cafe serves espresso drinks, caffeine-free specialty drinks and homemade baked goods, and sells cat-themed merchandise. Next to it is a cat room where visitors spend time with cats from local partner shelters and rescues, including the Temiskaming Shores area animal services, and every cat in the room is available for adoption. Drinks can be taken into the cat room. Entry to the cat room is charged per person, the minimum age is 6, and visitors under 18 must come with an adult, with no more than two minors per adult. Visits can be booked and prepaid online, and booking ahead is strongly recommended because the room often fills up. The cafe is open Thursday to Sunday.

Catelowna Cat Cafe
Kelowna, British Columbia
Catelowna Cat Cafe is on the second floor of 1441 Ellis Street in Kelowna's downtown Cultural District, with an elevator at the rear. Opened in June 2023 as the Okanagan's first cat cafe, it acts as a foster home for 20 to 30 adoptable cats from Shuswap Paws, the Prince George Humane Society, Running Wild Rescue and SOS Prairie Rescue, plus two resident former ferals, Wolseley and Pepper. A small cafe serves drinks and snacks that guests can take into the lounge. Visits last one hour and are charged per person, with a senior rate; reservations are recommended, and walk-ins are admitted when there is room. Children under 5 are not allowed in the lounge, and children 5 to 12 need an adult. Adopters meet the cats in person and then email the cafe; adoptions go first come, first served, take up to two weeks and carry a vet recovery fee. Cat yoga, pet painting nights and afternoon teas run monthly.

White Cats Cafe
Abbotsford British, Columbia
White Cats Cafe is a two-level cat cafe on Ventura Avenue in the Clearbrook area of Abbotsford, which opened in February 2026 as the city's first. The ground floor is a Turkish and European style cafe serving Turkish coffee, baklava, lahmacun, breakfast items, burgers and cakes, and upstairs is a cat lounge whose cats are mostly white Turkish Van and Angora types. Some cats are permanent residents and others came from rehoming or surrender situations; those available for adoption are listed with fees, and adopters apply and are matched rather than chosen first come, first served. The cafe states it does not breed cats. Lounge visits are booked online in 45-minute sessions charged per person. Children must be at least 4, and those up to 13 need an adult with them. A private party room hosts birthdays and meetings, cat yoga runs in the lounge, and a quiet cat room and a cat hotel for boarding have been announced.
