PURe JOY Cat Cafe
Daytona Beach, Florida
PURe JOY Cat Cafe is a nonprofit cat adoption lounge and gift shop on Beville Road in Daytona Beach, run by father and son Frank Lund and Isaac Morden, who has Down syndrome. It opened in May 2024 with the aim of creating jobs for people with special needs as well as finding homes for rescue cats. Visitors pay an entrance donation for the cat lounge, which includes a drink and a prepackaged cookie, and the kitten room is included in the same visit in kitten season. Appointments are made online, and walk-ins are taken only when there is space. The gift shop, with cat and beach-themed merchandise, is open to everyone. All the cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption, which is done through an application. Hours are short and vary by day.

The Kitty Cup
Port St Lucie, Florida
The Kitty Cup is a cat cafe on SW Gatlin Boulevard in Port St. Lucie and the only cat cafe on the Treasure Coast. It opened in June 2024, started by a local family who had fostered cats and left accounting to open it. The cafe serves coffee, tea, wine, beer, pastries and snacks, and a ten-foot viewing window lets guests with allergies watch the cats from their table. In the separate cat room, visitors book 30-minute or one-hour sessions and can bring their food and drinks in. Reservations are strongly recommended, walk-ins depend on space, and the cat room is for ages five and up, with one adult for every two children aged five to 12. The cats come from the Humane Society of St. Lucie County and the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, and adoptions are arranged at the cafe. It also hosts bingo and yoga nights.

Queen City Cat Lounge
Burlington, Vermont
Queen City Cat Lounge is a cat lounge on North Avenue in Burlington's New North End, opened in July 2024 by certified feline behaviorists Miche Faust and Kristina Madarang Stahl as the city's first cat lounge. Adoptable Vermont cats from the nonprofit Queen City Cats live in the lounge, and approved adopters can take one home through the rescue. Visits are 50-minute sessions with up to eight guests, priced separately for adults and children; reservations are encouraged and walk-ins are taken when there is room. It is a bring-your-own food and drink space, with self-serve snacks and drinks in the gift shop. Shoes come off, hands are sanitized and cats are not picked up. Children 6 and over are welcome during morning kids' hours. The lounge closes from 1 to 2 PM for cat naps, and hosts cat yoga, paint and sips, meditation and Dungeons and Dragons nights.

Paws and Purrs Cat Café
Carmel, Indiana
Paws and Purrs Cat Café began as Pawz Pet Cafe, which opened on Gradle Drive in Carmel, Indiana, in June 2024 as the city's first cat cafe. It served boba tea, coffee and lemonade, and visitors paid $10 for half an hour or $18 for an hour in a lounge with adoptable rescue cats from Paws on My Heart, Inc.; children under 12 needed an adult with them. The business also sold pet supplies and offered dog grooming and birthday parties. It closed on July 27, 2026, for renovation and rebranding, and reopened at the same address on October 20, 2026, as Paws and Purrs Cat Café, serving coffee, tea and boba with a lounge of adoptable cats from the same rescue. Lounge visits cost $10 for 30 minutes or $18 for an hour and can be booked online, and walk-ins are welcome when there is room.

Catitude Cafe
Goshen, Indiana
Catitude Cafe is a cat lounge and cat-themed gift shop on South Main Street in historic downtown Goshen, and the first cat cafe in Elkhart County. Owner Brenda Summers, a longtime Goshen teacher, opened it in September 2025. Around 15 to 20 cats from Here Kitty Kitty Rescue live in the lounge, and all of them can be adopted, with fees going to the rescue. Besides the main lounge there is a book room with cat books to read or borrow, a meeting room and a study room. Visits are booked online in half-hour or hour blocks, with longer stays and a day pass available, and adults get a free drink with an hour or more. The cats cannot be picked up, and young children have shorter visits. Events include storytime with cats, yoga with cats and Cats and Canvas, and groups can book the lounge outside regular hours.

Starry Night Cat Café
Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Starry Night Cat Café is a late-night coffee house and cat sanctuary on Clark Street in downtown Stevens Point, opened in June 2024 by Emily Peterson. The coffee house, inspired by Van Gogh's painting, is a cat-free space serving espresso drinks and teas, and its Listening Room hosts music, painting, yoga, readings and pop-up markets. The separate cat sanctuary, split between two rooms, is a foster home for adoptable cats from the Humane Society of Marathon County, and more than 100 cats were adopted in its first year. Cat time is sold in 45-minute sessions starting on the hour, with up to 10 guests per session and lower prices for children and on weekdays. Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed, and sessions can be reserved by phone. Every guest signs a waiver and must wear socks, as shoes are not allowed in the cat rooms.

Hunter's Kitten Lounge
Tucson, Arizona
Hunter's Kitten Lounge is a nonprofit cat lounge on East Speedway Boulevard in midtown Tucson, run by the foster-based Southern Arizona Cat Rescue, and opened in July 2024 as the city's first nonprofit cat cafe. Rescued cats and kittens from shelters across southern Arizona live free-roaming in a cozy, home-like space, and all can be adopted through the rescue. Visitors book 80-minute sessions online to relax, study, work or nap among the cats, and proceeds fund the cats' care. There is no phone; questions go to the lounge by email. A retail area offers drinks, snacks and merchandise, and kitten yoga and other special bookings are offered. Hours can change, so the booking page is the best guide to open times.

Craig's Cat Cafe
Spring City, Pennsylvania
Craig's Cat Cafe is a small coffee shop with a cat room on Riverside Drive in Spring City, Chester County, near the Schuylkill River. The cafe side serves coffee, espresso drinks, chai, matcha, bagels, cinnamon buns and breakfast sandwiches, and the cat side has a play space where visitors spend time with kittens and cats from Calla's Critter Rescue. Entry to the cat side is a flat fee, and young children enter free on weekdays. Monthly memberships are available for individuals and families. No reservations are needed during regular hours. Well-behaved children of all ages are welcome, but anyone who does not follow the cat-handling rules is asked to leave. The cats can be adopted by applying to Calla's Critter Rescue.

Marcie's Angels Cat Cafe
Glastonbury, Connecticut
Marcie's Angels Cat Cafe is a cafe and cat adoption lounge on Main Street in Glastonbury Center, southeast of Hartford. Named after owner Beth's late cat Marcie, it opened in August 2024 with the rescue Protectors of Animals; all lounge cats are adoptable through that group, and more than 200 have been adopted. The cafe serves coffee and baked goods from local vendors, sells cat-themed merchandise and looks into the lounge through large windows. The lounge has its own entrance and is open Wednesday to Sunday, while the cafe also opens on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Visits are 50-minute sessions for a per-person fee; booking is recommended and walk-ins are taken when there is space. Visitors must be at least 6, children under 13 need an adult, and each adult may bring two children. Cafe food and drink may be taken into the lounge. Events include tarot and yoga.

Avocato Catfé & Adoption Center
Farmington Hills, Michigan
Avocato Catfé & Adoption Center is a volunteer-run cat café on Grand River Avenue in Farmington Hills, in Oakland County northwest of Detroit. It is operated by Pet Adoption Alternative of Warren (PAAW), a nonprofit rescue with no paid staff, and all proceeds go to the animals in its care. Visitors book hourly sessions in a compact lounge designed around tiny-living ideas, where adoptable cats roam freely, and a separate kitten nursery holds kittens under six months old. A self-serve coffee and tea bar and packaged snacks, including vegan options, are available. Adults and children pay different hourly rates, a second hour on the same day is discounted, and payment is electronic only. Perry, Georgia
Paws Awhile Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Macon Road in Perry, about 15 minutes south of Warner Robins, and was the first cat cafe in Middle Georgia when it opened in 2024. It has a cafe side selling drinks, snacks, beer and wine, a corner of cat-themed goods, and a separate cat lounge with adoptable cats that can be watched through large windows. Lounge sessions start on the hour, and pre-paid online booking is strongly recommended because space is limited. Food bought in the cafe can be taken into the lounge, but the cats must not be fed. Regular sessions are for ages 5 and up, with shorter sessions for ages 3 and up on some days. The cats come from the Humane Society of Houston County and several local rescues, and adoptions go through those groups. The lounge can be booked privately for parties.

The Pawsitive Cafe
Rochester, New York
The Pawsitive Cafe is a nonprofit cat cafe on East Avenue in Rochester's East End, near the Eastman Theatre, and opened in 2022 as downtown Rochester's first cat cafe; it has since moved to a larger space at 115 East Avenue. The neurodivergent-owned cafe is home to around 25 to 30 adoptable cats from several local rescue partners, and more than 370 cats have been adopted. Visitors pay per person for 30- or 60-minute visits, and booking ahead guarantees a spot because walk-ins are not always available; bookings are non-refundable and the fees go to the cats' care. Children under 16 must be with someone 18 or older, and outside animals are not allowed. Drinks and snacks are sold, and the cafe hosts events such as painting nights and private parties.
