Planet Purrrk Club
Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Planet Purrrk Club is a cat lounge, co-working space and study hall inside Planet Perk at City Center, a veteran-owned coffee house in downtown Oshkosh. Opened in 2023 in a 3,000-square-foot space off the cafe's back hallway, the lounge houses about 9 to 15 adoptable cats and kittens from the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, all spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Visitors buy an hourly cat pass at the counter or online, with a lower price for children, and children under 13 need an adult; reservations are recommended at weekends. High school and college students with ID can use the lounge as a study hall in the afternoons. The cafe serves coffee, beer, wine and all-day breakfast and lunch. Private offices, meeting rooms and co-working memberships are available, and the lounge hosts a weekly silent book club, paint-and-sip mornings and kitty yoga. Adoptions are arranged through the humane society.

Feline Felons Cat Cafe
Waldorf, Maryland
Feline Felons Cat Cafe is a cat lounge in Waldorf, Maryland, which owner Christine Gonzales opened in September 2023 in an industrial park on Industrial Park Drive. Its cats and kittens are adoptable and come from the Charles County Animal Care Center, and nearly 360 were adopted in its first year or so. Visitors booked time in a home-like cat lounge and a separate kitten room, with packaged snacks and bottled drinks for sale, and the cafe held events such as craft nights and kitten yoga. It also sells cat supplies. After losing its lease, it closed at Industrial Park Drive in September 2026, having helped with 1,306 adoptions, and in October 2026 it was still looking for a new location while keeping its online shop open.

The Cat's Closet
Bloomington, Indiana
The Cat's Closet is a cat lounge and vintage clothing shop on South Pete Ellis Drive near College Mall on the east side of Bloomington. Founders Sydney and Clairessa sold vintage clothes online and at markets from 2021 while doing cat rescue on the side before opening the shop. The vintage racks, with t-shirts, sweaters, denim, jackets, dresses and records, are in a room kept separate from the cats and need no booking. In the cat lounge, adoptable cats from the Greene County Humane Society roam free, and visits are booked online in 30-minute or one-hour slots, with a discounted short visit on Thursdays. Walk-ins are possible but booking ahead is recommended. The cats can be adopted through an application process. The shop also hosts monthly markets and bingo, rents out the space for private events and shows local artists in a small gallery.

Btown Meow Cat Cafe
Bloomington, Indiana
Btown Meow Cat Cafe is a small cat cafe on State Road 46 on the northwest side of Bloomington, run by a mother and daughter. Its free-roaming lounge is home to adoptable cats from the Bloomington Animal Shelter, and by autumn 2026 it had found homes for more than 365 of them. The cafe sells a selection of drinks and prepackaged treats that guests can take into the lounge. Visitors pay a small fee for time with the cats and may pet them, but should not pick them up without permission. The number of people in the lounge is limited, so reservations are encouraged and walk-ins may be turned away. Children are welcome as long as an adult stays with them in the room. Adoption is by application and approval. The cafe also runs a cat of the month, storytime and silent book club events and sells cat-themed merchandise.

Catfé Montclair
Montclair, New Jersey
Catfé Montclair is a cat lounge and adoption space on Bloomfield Avenue in downtown Montclair, Essex County, in a second-floor walk-up suite. It opened in January 2024 and works with the rescue Homeless Tails, whose cats come largely from the streets of Newark, Irvington and East Orange and live in the lounge while they wait for adopters. It is not a full cafe: admission includes a drink from a self-serve station with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Reservations are required to guarantee entry, and same-day bookings are final. Shoes come off and clean socks are required, with cat socks for sale. Guests are asked not to wake or pick up the cats and to keep voices low. Children 7 and older are welcome, with monthly Family Cat Time sessions for ages 5 and up. Events include cat yoga, bingo, sound baths and paint nights.

Alleycats & Aristocats
Medina, Ohio
Alleycats & Aristocats is a volunteer-run cat rescue and adoption center on East Smith Road in Medina, in the space that was once home to the Cats Off the Square cat cafe. Its rescue location is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, when visitors can meet and spend time with the adoptable cats and kittens, browse a gift area of items for cat lovers and order custom engraving for gifts and pet tags. Entry is free, and donations support the cats. The nonprofit takes in strays and cats that need rehoming, works with trap-neuter-return groups to place friendly cats from feral colonies, and also finds homes for retired purebred cats from breeders. Cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. Adoption applications can be submitted online, and the rescue also hosts educational events on responsible pet care.

Coastal Cat Cafe
Pensacola, Florida
Coastal Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on West Garden Street, just west of downtown Pensacola, and the city's first. It opened in December 2023 after a Kickstarter campaign by founder Adrienne Brynteson. The front of the shop sells coffee, tea, sodas, local pastries and snacks, along with cat merchandise and treats for the cats, and a separate lounge holds a room full of adoptable cats and kittens. Visits to the lounge are 45-minute sessions for guests aged six and up, paid in advance online, and everyone signs a waiver. Reservations are not required but are strongly recommended, and walk-ins are not accepted once the last session of the day has emptied. Every cat can be adopted, and the cafe passed 500 adoptions in 2026. It runs a busy events calendar with cat yoga, paint nights, trivia and crafts for children. It is closed on Mondays.

Black Cat Beanery
Orion Township, Michigan
Black Cat Beanery is a cat café inside the Orion Marketplace shopping center on South Lapeer Road in Orion Township, about eight minutes from I-75 exit 81 in northern Oakland County. Opened in October 2023, it works with its own nonprofit, Black Cat Society, which runs the shelter and keeps no more than 15 cats at a time; more than 230 have been adopted. Each visit includes at least an hour in the Cat Room, a hot drink made with house-roasted coffee or a cold drink, and a snack from the snack basket. Visitors are capped at 15 per hour so there is never more than one person per cat. Children and seniors pay less, families get a discount, and Tuesdays are discounted for everyone. Booking online guarantees a place. The café also offers memberships, cat sponsorships, private sessions and events such as paint nights.

Salty Cat Cafe
Panama City, Florida
Salty Cat Cafe is the cat lounge of Salty Cats Rescue, a volunteer rescue for abandoned and feral cats, in a mural-painted building on Bayview Avenue in the St. Andrews area of Panama City. It is less a cafe than a rescue's adoption house: visitors pass a small gift shop and spend an hour in a large snuggle room with the rescue's cats and kittens, many of them teenagers and adults, plus an outdoor area. Sessions are paid by the hour and can be booked online or taken as a walk-in. All the cats are available for adoption through the rescue, and the founder matches adopters with suitable cats. The fees go to the cats' food and veterinary care. It opens in the afternoons from Tuesday to Saturday, with a later session on Wednesdays.

MeowTown
Alton, Illinois
MeowTown is a nonprofit cat cafe on West Elm Street in Alton, Illinois, a river town in the Metro East area of Greater St. Louis. Opened in December 2023 by Kristine and Marc Ressler and their daughter Lily, it was Alton's first cat cafe. The cats come from the Metro East Humane Society in Edwardsville and Highland, and all are available for adoption. Visitors book a 50-minute session in the cat lounge, starting on the hour, or walk in if there is room; the lounge is for ages 6 and up, and the last session of the day starts at 6 pm. All proceeds go to the cats' care. The front of the cafe sells cookies baked in house, drinks and cat-themed gifts, and party packages are available. Parking is in the lot across the street. Hours can change around holidays, so it is worth checking before a visit.

The Biscuit Factory Cat Lounge
Colorado Springs
The Biscuit Factory Cat Lounge is a cat lounge on South 25th Street in Old Colorado City, just off West Colorado Avenue, and the first cat cafe in Colorado Springs. It works with Happy Cats Haven, the cat rescue in nearby Manitou Springs, and every cat living in the lounge is adoptable; the cats roam freely and stay overnight as a foster space. Visitors pay a single per-person entry fee for an hour, which includes a complimentary coffee, tea, soda or sparkling water, and prepackaged snacks and cat-themed goods are sold on site. Reservations are not required but are recommended on weekends, school holidays and for groups of four or more, and guests sign a waiver. There is no minimum age, but children under 16 must be supervised by an adult. Adoption applications are handled by Happy Cats Haven, and the lounge also hosts craft nights.

Mr. Kitty's Cat Café & Boutique

Mr. Kitty's Cat Café & Boutique is a cafe, cat lounge and cat-themed gift shop in a converted historic church on South Farwell Street in downtown Eau Claire. Opened in March 2024 as the city's first cat cafe, it works exclusively with the Eau Claire County Humane Association, which supplies its 10 to 15 cats and handles adoptions; the cafe passed its 500th adoption in August 2026. The lounge is separate from the cafe, so guests can watch the cats through the glass with a coffee, tea or snack, or pay to go in. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations can be made online. Visitors to the lounge must be at least 7 years old and sign a waiver, while the cafe and boutique have no age limit. The cafe has free Wi-Fi and board games.
