Kona Kat Cafe

The Kona Kat Cafe is the first and only cat cafe on the Big Island of Hawai’i. The cafe offers a cozy, cool, and comfortable place with a “Catio” (cat patio) that's not just for cats, but a positive, relaxing space for cat and animal lovers too. The Kona Kat Cafe opened in November 2023 in downtown Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. All of our Hawaii rescue cats & kittens come from rescue organizations on the Big Island and are available for adoption. The owner, Jenny Hulen, had the dream of opening a cat cafe since she visited one in Dublin, Ireland. She has a passion for animals and for the healing arts, and decided after a 35-year career in health care to combine the two and provide a healing environment for both the cats and humans.
