TropiCats

TropiCats is the first cat cafe on Kaua'i, on the lower level of Harbor Mall on Rice Street in Nawiliwili, Lihue. Opened in September 2023, it houses adoptable cats from the Kauai Community Cat Project, usually around ten to a dozen, in a play room that holds all the cats and up to ten visitors at a time. No appointment is needed: visitors walk in and pay per person for 30 minutes or an hour, young children enter free, and socks are worn in the cat room. The in-house cafe serves coffee drinks from Kauai Coffee and pastries from Kauai Bakery, and there is free wifi and a shop with cat-themed gifts. All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and adoptions are donation based, including for visitors from off island. Cat yoga, birthday parties and meetings can be booked.
