Toe Beans & Dreams Adoption Cafe, located in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center in Aiea, Hawaii, is a one-of-a-kind destination that blends compassion with community impact. This animal adoption cafe also serves as a skills training center, empowering young adults with developmental disabilities through hands-on job opportunities in cooking, cleaning, serving, and animal care. Founded by Dr. Karen Tyson, a neuropsychologist and animal rescuer, the cafe partners with KAT Charities to rescue cats from Oahu’s streets, providing a safe, loving environment for healing and adoption after the cats are trapped, neutered, and vetted. For a $15 entry fee, guests enjoy 50 minutes in the cat lounge—including cat treats—while sipping coffee or tea and supporting a mission-driven cause. The cafe is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM (closed Mondays). It also welcomes volunteers and fosters a community hub for behavioral therapy and life skills development, making it a heartwarming space where feline friends and human dreams thrive together. Reservations are encouraged to secure your purr-fect visit.
