Shah Neko House
Shah Neko House is a rescue cat cafe in an old-style house in Minari, Minogo-cho, Onomichi, about 3 km north of Shin-Onomichi Station along Route 184, with free parking for about six cars. Opened in March 2026 by the NPO Pet Manner Onomichi, it is home to shy rescue cats that tend to hiss at adoption events. Their living quarters connect to the cafe room by a transparent walkway, so each cat comes out only when it wants company. Visits are charged per hour with one drink included, plus 30-minute extensions; children up to junior high school age pay a flat rate with a guardian, and seniors get a discount. Cats can be adopted after a trial period. The cafe opens on Fridays, weekends and public holidays, with last entry at 5 PM, and cat yoga classes are held on Monday evenings by reservation.

Nomikui Dabo
Fukuyama, Hiroshima13 mi / 21 km
Nomikui Dabo is an izakaya in Kasuga-cho, eastern Fukuyama, near Higashi-Fukuyama Station, that bills itself as a restaurant with cats. Several rescued cats live in the restaurant and greet guests at the door, and many visitors come mainly to see them while they eat and drink. The menu is broad, from sashimi and other Japanese dishes to pizza, with all-you-can-drink plans and ordering by smartphone. Seating is in private rooms, around a sunken kotatsu-style table and at the counter, and dogs are allowed in the private rooms. The izakaya also lends its space to a local rescue group for cat adoption events. It opens every evening and stays open until late at night, and booking ahead is recommended because seating is limited to the private rooms.
