Cat Cafe COMMUNE
Cat Cafe COMMUNE is a small, home-style cat cafe in a quiet residential area of Zao-cho, eastern Fukuyama, reached by narrow streets that are awkward for large cars. Around 20 cats live there, mostly adults of breeds such as Scottish Folds, Maine Coons and Munchkins, and they are used to visitors; cat treats can be bought to feed them. The owner is also a cat breeder, so kittens are sometimes present and are offered for sale. The cafe opens only on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in the afternoon, and every visit must be booked in advance by message, LINE or, for same-day visits, by phone. Visits are charged per 30 minutes with an order required, and children of elementary school age or younger pay half price with a guardian. A donation box is offered at the end of a visit.

Nomikui Dabo
Fukuyama, Hiroshima0.8 mi / 1.2 km
Nomikui Dabo is an izakaya in Kasuga-cho, eastern Fukuyama, near Higashi-Fukuyama Station, that bills itself as a restaurant with cats. Several rescued cats live in the restaurant and greet guests at the door, and many visitors come mainly to see them while they eat and drink. The menu is broad, from sashimi and other Japanese dishes to pizza, with all-you-can-drink plans and ordering by smartphone. Seating is in private rooms, around a sunken kotatsu-style table and at the counter, and dogs are allowed in the private rooms. The izakaya also lends its space to a local rescue group for cat adoption events. It opens every evening and stays open until late at night, and booking ahead is recommended because seating is limited to the private rooms.

Visits are by reservation only, in one-hour slots, with paid extensions, and can be booked online or by phone.
