Kitanagoya, Aichi, Japan
Neko Jigoku
Neko Jigoku is a cat room on the second floor of a building in Tokushige, Kitanagoya, about 10 minutes on foot from Meitetsu Tokushige-Nagoya Geidai Station. The building also houses an apparel shop on the ground floor and the KTS tattoo studio, which sits next to the cat space. It describes itself as a "cat park" rather than a cat cafe: no drinks are served, and visitors simply come to play with the cats. The cats are rescues and are very sociable, and they wear studded punk-style collars with bells. Kittens rescued by the shop are sometimes put up for adoption. Opening days are irregular and are announced in the Instagram stories; the space usually opens in the afternoon from 3 PM into the evening. Payment is cash only, there is a discount for children, and paid parking is nearby.
