Hachiware Farm
Hachiware Farm is a cafe with a rescue cat room at Tropical Farm Yamagawa, a mango farm in Yamagawa, Ibusuki, near the Yamagawa geothermal power station. The farm grows more than 20 varieties of mango and other tropical fruit, and the cafe serves fruit juices, mango lassi, coffee and seasonal fruit sandwiches, which are sold mainly on weekends and holidays and often sell out early. Around ten rescued cats live in a cat space inside, many of them newcomers or cats recovering from illness before moving to the sister coworking space necohara in Yunohama; visitors can meet and gently stroke them after disinfecting their hands. Many of the cats are looking for adoptive homes, and cat goods are sold to fund rescue work. The cafe is generally open every day, though hours change with the season, and payment is cash only.
