CAIT SITH
CAIT SITH is an adoption-focused cat cafe near Center-Kita Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway, in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama. Run by a certified nonprofit of the same name, it was set up to save cats from Amami Oshima that had been trapped as ferals and faced euthanasia, and it opened in 2020 after a crowdfunding campaign backed by more than 500 people. Most of the cats in the room are available for adoption, and the group also runs a long-term foster program. Visits are charged in 30-minute steps, with weekday free-time and private hire options, and payment is in cash. Advance bookings are made online up to the day before, and same-day visitors can enter at the door. The cafe has no phone, to keep things calm for the cats, and only gelato and bottled drinks sold on site may be consumed. It is closed on Tuesdays.
