Animal Aid Rescue Cat Shelter
Animal Aid is a general incorporated association that runs a large rescue cat shelter in Koshikiya, Ageo, one minute from the Mamagami stop on the Tobu bus from the west exit of JR Ageo Station. The shelter takes in kittens, adult and elderly cats, and sick cats that are hard to rehome, and its rescue cat interaction experience lets visitors spend time with them inside the shelter. No booking is needed, and visits are charged per hour, with children of elementary school age and younger free. Under-18s cannot enter on their own, and very young children may be turned away. No drinks are served, and socks are required. The shelter opens every day, but staff shortages sometimes close it on weekdays, so calling ahead is advised. Adoptions follow the association's own process and are open to people living alone.
