Nekokatsu Rescue Cat Cafe Omiya Nisshin is run by the NPO Nekokatsu and sits about four minutes on foot from the south exit of JR Nisshin Station in Kita Ward, Saitama. Opened in 2018 as the second branch after the original Kawagoe cafe, it occupies the second floor of a building with a cram school on the ground floor. The cats were taken in from public animal facilities, rescues and owners who could no longer keep them, and all are looking for new homes; the organisation also runs TNR work and adoption events. Visits are charged by time, there is no age limit, and visitors are asked to wear socks. Anyone wearing real fur, including bags or accessories, is refused entry. The cafe is closed on Mondays and on the first Tuesday of each month, with a substitute day off when these fall on public holidays.
