4C's Bar Rosso
4C's Bar Rosso is a small wine and whisky bar on the G1 lane of Shinjuku Golden Gai, up a narrow staircase on the second floor, about 5 minutes on foot from Shinjuku-sanchome Station. Around five house cats, each named after a drink, live in the bar and roam the counter, the stairs and guests' laps, often greeting visitors on the way up. It is a bar rather than a cat cafe: there is no time charge, guests pay a per-person table charge and order drinks, and the cats come and go as they please, so they are not always out. The bar is entirely non-smoking because of the cats, and guests are asked not to pick up the cats or use flash. The owner keeps many wines by the glass, rare whiskies and gin. It opens in the evening and stays open until morning on Fridays and Saturdays.
