The cats are mostly pedigree breeds, including British Shorthairs, Persians, Maine Coons, Scottish Folds and hairless Sphynx, and the owner also breeds cats. There is no entrance fee: each visitor orders at least one item from the menu of coffee, drinks and light bites, then can stay and play for as long as they like. Shredded chicken treats for the cats can be bought at the counter. Grooming, boarding, daycare and cat nebulising are offered alongside the café.

Visitors simply buy a drink, and can then go into the cat room to play with the cats whenever they like, which makes it a relaxed stop for families with young children. The menu is short and affordable, with coffee, matcha latte and other drinks plus pastries, and some tables have power points for working. The owners also keep betta fish and a few hamsters on display. The cafe has a quiet, cosy atmosphere and is near several pet clinics and groomers.

Izawa Dessert
George Town, Penang
Izawa Dessert is a cat cafe in the Heng Guan Building on Jalan Burma (Burma Road), a short walk from the centre of George Town, Penang. The spacious, cave-like interior is shared with a household of friendly, fluffy cats, including a short-legged white-and-grey favourite, who roam among the tables and get their own bowls at mealtimes. There is no entrance fee: each guest simply orders food or a drink. Shoes come off at the door, so bring socks, and the house rules are short and simple. The menu mixes Japanese-style meals such as omurice curry, teriyaki chicken sets and unagi with bingsu, snow ice and showpiece cakes like the salted egg yolk avalanche cake, plus smoothies and iced teas. The cafe describes itself as Muslim friendly, with no pork, lard or alcohol, and it stays open into the evening, which makes it an easy dinner stop for cat lovers.
Rendez by Meowchii
George Town, Penang
Rendez by Meowchii is a vintage-styled cafe on Lorong Toh Aka in George Town's heritage quarter, Penang, run by the team behind Meowchii Cafe, which moved here from Butterworth. The ground floor is an ordinary cafe, while the cats live in their own room upstairs: around 25 of them, from rescued cats and kittens to breeds such as Abyssinians and curly-coated Selkirk Rex. To visit the cat room, either pay an RM25 entry fee that includes a drink, or spend at least RM25 per person on food and drinks downstairs. Keeping the dining area separate from the cats suits visitors who worry about hygiene, and the warm lighting and retro decor make the whole building a favourite for photos. The menu covers brunch and lunch plates, coffee, matcha, tiramisu, mochi brownies and pandan kaya treats, and card games are on hand for groups who want to linger.
Kucik Kucik Cafe
George Town, Penang
Kucik Kucik Cafe is an Egyptian-themed cat cafe on Lebuh Campbell in central George Town, Penang, opened in 2026. Golden decor, pharaoh figures, pyramids and Anubis motifs fill the shophouse, and guests can dress up in Egyptian costumes for photos at no extra charge. The resident cats are unusual breeds picked to suit the theme: Sphynx, Devon Rex, Abyssinian, Oriental Shorthair and Bengal, with quiet resting areas where they can take a break from visitors. Staff explain the rules before you enter the cat area: let the cats come to you, no camera flash, and keep things clean. Access to the cats works on a minimum spend per person. The kitchen serves proper meals such as glazed chicken with truffle mushroom sauce, crab chowder, pepperoni pasta and fries, alongside waffles, tiramisu and coffee, and the cafe is a short walk from George Town's street art and heritage sights.
JM Dessert House
Sungai Petani, Kedah
JM Dessert House is a small, flower-filled dessert cafe in the old town (Pekan Lama) of Sungai Petani, Kedah, where three resident cats keep guests company. An outgoing white cat usually does the greeting, while a British Shorthair and a calico are more reserved, and the small number of cats keeps the room calm rather than crowded. The menu centres on sweets: mille-crêpe and other cakes, bingsu, mochi, croissants and drinks such as Thai chocolate, with a few savoury snacks like Tom Yum Maggi. Guests can also decorate their own cake and then eat it, which makes the cafe a popular choice for birthdays and family outings, and fresh flowers are sold on site. The cafe describes itself as Muslim friendly with no pork. It suits anyone looking for a quiet dessert stop in the company of a few cats rather than a big cat lounge.
Catfé Kota Bharu
Kota Bharu, Kelantan
Catfé Kota Bharu is an upstairs cat cafe on Jalan Hospital in Taman Kenangan, Kota Bharu, and bills itself as the first cat cafe in Kelantan. The cosy, air-conditioned space has a separate cat area where a group of friendly resident cats lounge, play and wait for attention, and visitors sanitise their hands before going in. There is no separate entry ticket: each guest orders at least one meal or one drink to join the cats. The kitchen serves western favourites such as chicken chop, grilled chicken and spaghetti, along with local dishes like nasi lemak, freshly brewed coffee, sparkling juices and other cold drinks, and the cafe describes itself as Muslim-friendly. It is a relaxed spot for lunch or dinner with a cat on the next chair, popular with students and families, and children are welcome.
Slow Bar by Kopicat
Kuantan, Pahang
Slow Bar by Kopicat is a small specialty coffee bar in an old wooden kampung-style house on Jalan Alor Akar in Taman Mayfair, Kuantan. Alongside the coffee it keeps a dedicated cat room, home to around five to seven resident cats including a large, friendly Maine Coon. Customers can step into the room to pet the cats, and bags of cat food are sold at the counter for feeding them. The baristas pull espresso by hand on manual Flair lever machines using seasonal specialty beans, and the menu also covers lattes, dirty lattes, matcha and strawberry matcha, chocolate and cookies. Seating is limited, with a few tables indoors and outside, and there is a car park. The same team runs Espresso Bar by Kopicat at the same address and Kopicat Express on Jalan Beserah, which have no cats.
Check each cafe's website for current hours, booking requirements and age restrictions before visiting.
