Purrfect ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​‌‌‌‌‌​‌‌​‌‌‌​‌​‌‌‌‌​‌​‌​​‌​‌‌‌⁠Space is a co-working and wellbeing space in Imperial Arcade, between Western Road and Dyke Road near Churchill Square in central Brighton, about ten minutes' walk from Brighton station. Opened in February 2026 by the team behind Munchies' Craft Cat Cafe, it is home to a group of rescue cats, at first six cats from Turkey, who share the room with people working at desks. It is a workplace rather than a cat cafe: guests book a desk for two hours, half a day or a full day, with tea, coffee and snacks included, and interaction with the cats is gentle and on their terms, with designated soft hours for more time with them. Evenings and weekends bring bookable cat yoga, sound baths, art workshops and movie nights. A small shop sells cat-themed work by local makers. The space holds a council animal welfare licence.

Waterlooville, Hampshire

Purrfect ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​​​‌‌​​​‌‌​‌​​​​​​‌​​‌​​‌​​​‌‌‌⁠Paws Feline Welfare is a small independent cat rescue with a tea room on Stakes Hill Road in Waterlooville, north of Portsmouth in Hampshire. Run by volunteers, its rescue and adoption hub lets visitors have tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake in the company of the cats and kittens it is rehoming. It is not a cat cafe with permanent residents: the cats are rescues waiting for adoption, and anyone interested completes an application followed by checks and a home visit, with an adoption fee. There is no entry fee, but a minimum spend applies, and takings pay for the cats' care. From Tuesday to Friday visitors can walk in; Saturdays and school holidays are by booking only, through Facebook or by phone. An airlock porch keeps the cats safe, and dogs are welcome in the outside seating area at the front.

Colchester, Essex

Brews ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌​‌‌​​​‌‌‌‌‌​​‌​‌‌‌‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​⁠& Whiskers is a rescue cat cafe on Sir Isaac's Walk in Colchester town centre, a few minutes on foot from St John's multi-storey car park and the Culver Square shops. It opened in April 2025 and is run by two University of Essex graduates who foster former street cats from two partner rescues, Nine Lives Greece in Athens and Cyprus Pride House. The cats live in the cafe and roam freely until they are adopted, and visitors interested in adopting fill in an interest form and go through the rescue's checks. Visits are paid by entry fee, booked online or taken as walk-ins when slots are free, including shorter 30-minute drop-in sessions. Children must be 8 or older. The cafe serves coffee, drinks and snacks with vegan and gluten-free options, and holds evening events such as a monthly book club, pottery painting and tarot nights.

Cambridge

Catte ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌‌‌‌‌‌​​​​‌‌​​‌​‌‌​​⁠Latte is a small rescue cat cafe on Mill Road in Cambridge, just past the railway bridge and about 15 minutes on foot from Cambridge station. Opened in August 2026, it was the city's first dedicated cat cafe and is home to a group of eight rescue cats chosen with its rescue partner. The cats arrive and leave as a settled group: adoption applications are taken for each cat, and the whole cohort moves on together before a new, already familiar group takes its place. Visits are one-hour sessions booked online in hourly slots, with a higher price at weekends, and visitors choose their seats from a floor plan when booking. Walk-ins are taken when there is space. The minimum age is 10. The cafe serves speciality coffee from Hot Numbers, matcha, tea and cakes such as tiramisu, brownies and a vegan blueberry muffin.

Teignmouth, Devon

Nelson's ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌‌​‌​​​​​‌‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​‌‌​​‌​‌‌‌​⁠Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Northumberland Place in the centre of Teignmouth, a few minutes' walk from Teignmouth railway station. Founded in 2025 and named after Nelson, a rescued cat found at a dump in Okehampton, it runs as a non-profit, with money left after wages and cat care donated to local rescuers and cat charities. Around ten resident cats live in the cafe, a mix of rescues and young cats that include two curly-coated Selkirk Rex. Visits are booked in advance in 55-minute slots, each ticket covers one person, and food and drink are paid for separately on the day. The menu has coffee, cakes, milkshakes, light lunches and plenty of vegan choices. Visitors must be 13 or older, and under-16s need an adult with them. A two-door entry system keeps the cats safe, and visitors are asked not to bring their own pets.

Bovey Tracey, Devon

The ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌​‌​​​‌​‌‌‌​​​‌​​‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌⁠Scratching Post is a family-run cat cafe on Fore Street in the centre of Bovey Tracey, a small town on the eastern edge of Dartmoor. Opened in spring 2026 and styled after Japanese cat cafes with bright lucky-cat colours, it is home to around ten resident cats, among them Maine Coons, a British Shorthair, a Bengal and two Maine Coon and Ragdoll sisters taken in when their family had to move. A visit fee is charged on top of food and drink, and booking ahead is advised, although walk-ins are possible at quieter times. Standard sessions are for visitors aged 11 and over, while separate Kitten Club sessions let younger children visit with an adult. Guests wear overshoes and clean their hands before entering the cat area. The menu covers coffee, matcha, toasties, light bites and homemade cakes. Pay-and-display parking is just behind the Methodist Church.

Liskeard, Cornwall

Paws ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​‌​​‌‌‌​​​​​​‌​‌​​​​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌​​⁠& Purs is a farm cat cafe at Ninestones Farm, home of Alpaca Trekking Cornwall (Moor View Alpacas), on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor north of Liskeard. The farm's own pet cats took to spending their days in the cafe, and it opened officially as a cat cafe in October 2023. Nine cats live there and roam freely between the cafe and the farm, so each visit is different, and after a session visitors can walk round the farm to look for cats outside and meet the alpacas, goats, sheep and other animals. Tickets must be booked in advance because seating and parking are limited, and the entry fee goes towards the cats' care. Children are welcome, though the experience is recommended for those over four. The cafe serves a light lunch menu and a pre-booked Cornish afternoon tea, with views across the moor.

Solihull, West Midlands

A ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌​​​‌​‌​‌‌​​​​‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌⁠Slice of Purrfection is a cat cafe on Poplar Road in central Solihull, a few minutes' walk from the High Street. Ten resident rescue cats roam freely around the cafe while guests eat and drink, and they are permanent members of the household rather than cats for adoption. Visits are booked by table online for one-hour sessions with a per-person entry fee, and the last slot starts an hour before closing. Children under two enter free and under-10s must be supervised by an adult. Guests may stroke the cats gently but are asked not to pick them up or feed them human food, though cat treats can be bought for a small donation. The cafe serves coffee, cakes, light meals and afternoon tea, and a book at the tables lists each cat's name and preferences. It is licensed by Solihull Council and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Whitchurch, Shropshire

CATW ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​​‌‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌​​​​​​‌​​‌​​‌‌‌‌​​​⁠Cafe is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit cat cafe on St Mary's Street in the centre of Whitchurch, the north Shropshire market town near the Cheshire and Welsh borders. It is run by Cat Assist Team Whitchurch (CATW), a local cat rescue, and every penny raised goes back into rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming cats. The rescue cats live in the cafe, and visitors can meet them with a view to adoption or simply spend time with them. Admission is charged per person for an hour and includes a drink, and visits can be booked online or arranged on arrival. The cafe serves hot chocolate, coffee, toasties and cakes, sells pre-loved items, and is the collection point for the rescue's pet food bank. It first opened on Green End in May 2025 and, after flooding forced it to close within weeks, reopened at its current St Mary's Street premises later that year.

Eccleshall, Staffordshire

Charlie's ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​‌​‌​​‌‌‌​‌​​‌​​‌‌​‌​​​‌​​‌​​‌​⁠Cat Cafe is a cat cafe and small rescue on Stone Road in Eccleshall, a market town in Staffordshire between Stafford and Stone, next to the Co-op. It began on the High Street in Stone around 2019 and moved to a purpose-fitted building in Eccleshall at the end of 2022. About 18 rescue cats live in the cafe, with climbing frames, beds and play areas, and they wander among the tables while guests eat. Visitors book a table online for a session of about an hour and a half with a per-person booking fee that pays for the cats' food, vaccinations and vet bills, and walk-ins are taken until an hour before closing. Children must be at least six and accompanied by an adult. The menu covers coffee, milkshakes, cakes, Staffordshire oatcakes and light meals, and a traditional afternoon tea can be booked on Thursdays. Parking nearby is limited.

Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire

My ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​​​‌​‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌​‌​‌​​‌​‌​‌⁠Purrfect Catè is a cat cafe on Market Lane in Hanley, the city centre of Stoke-on-Trent. Opened in 2026 as the first cat cafe in Stoke, it is a family-run venue where around 14 resident cats and kittens of several breeds live in a large lounge with cat towers, hideaways and sofas. The cats belong to the owners and are not offered for adoption. Visits are booked online as sessions of an hour and a half with a per-person fee, children under two go free, and walk-ins are not guaranteed. Guests must read the house rules before booking, and staff hand out treats and toys and explain each cat's favourite games. The cafe serves coffee, iced drinks, tea in small pots, waffles, homemade cakes and desserts. It is accessible by ramp for wheelchair users.

Hindley, Greater Manchester

PawPurrs ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌‌‌​​​​‌​‌‌​‌​‌​‌​​​​​​​​​‌​​‌⁠Halfway House is a small cat rescue charity in Hindley, near Wigan, that runs a charity shop on Ladies Lane next to Asda, a short walk downhill from Hindley station. Alongside the rails of pre-loved clothes, books, DVDs and bric-a-brac, the shop has a rescue room where cats waiting for new homes live, and visitors are welcome to sit with them and give them a fuss, either inside or at the sheltered seating outside. The cats are strays, abandoned cats and pregnant cats taken in by the charity's founder, and all are neutered, vaccinated and treated before they are rehomed. There is no entry fee; shop sales and donations pay for vet care. Tea and coffee are no longer served. Anyone interested in adopting is asked to phone first to find out which cats are ready for homes. Opening hours are short, from Wednesday to Saturday.
