Whitchurch, Shropshire, England
CATW Cafe
CATW Cafe is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit cat cafe on St Mary's Street in the centre of Whitchurch, the north Shropshire market town near the Cheshire and Welsh borders. It is run by Cat Assist Team Whitchurch (CATW), a local cat rescue, and every penny raised goes back into rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming cats. The rescue cats live in the cafe, and visitors can meet them with a view to adoption or simply spend time with them. Admission is charged per person for an hour and includes a drink, and visits can be booked online or arranged on arrival. The cafe serves hot chocolate, coffee, toasties and cakes, sells pre-loved items, and is the collection point for the rescue's pet food bank. It first opened on Green End in May 2025 and, after flooding forced it to close within weeks, reopened at its current St Mary's Street premises later that year.

Cat Cafe Liverpool occupies three floors of a building at the city-centre end of Bold Street, a few minutes on foot from Liverpool Central station. Run by the same company as Cat Cafe Manchester, it is home to around a dozen resident cats, several of them pedigree breeds, which live at the cafe and are not up for adoption. Visitors pay for time with the cats rather than for drinks: entry includes unlimited hot and cold drinks, walk-ins are charged by the five minutes, and an hour can be pre-booked online. Food such as toasties, paninis, scones and afternoon tea is sold separately. Children aged 4 to 9 can visit only during child-friendly sessions, and under-4s are not admitted. Quieter SEN sessions run on Tuesday mornings. Only the ground floor is step-free, as there is no lift.
The Qattery Cafe & Cats
Wolverhampton, West Midlands35 mi / 57 km
The Qattery Cafe & Cats is Wolverhampton's first cat cafe, on Victoria Street in the city centre next to the Mander Centre. The ground floor is an ordinary artisan coffee shop open to walk-ins, serving hot food, sandwiches, cakes and speciality coffee, while the former function room upstairs has been turned into a lounge for 19 rescue cats. All of the cats were rescued from the streets of Qatar and brought to the UK by the owner, and they live at the cafe permanently. Visits to the cat room are booked in 30-minute sessions with a per-person fee, and two back-to-back sessions give a longer stay. Children are welcome, with no more than two under-10s per adult and under-14s accompanied, and guests are asked not to chase or pick up the cats. The cat room is reached by 21 stairs, so access is limited.

Up to 15 rescue cats live at the cafe as a group for one to two years, often cats with medical needs that would otherwise spend a long time in cattery pens. When a group leaves to be adopted, a new one moves in. The cats roam both floors and can retreat to a private upstairs apartment. Visits are booked for one or three hours, with drinks, cakes and vegan or low-gluten options paid for separately. Public sessions are for ages 11 and over, with educational sessions for younger children and quiet hours with reduced capacity.
