CatPawCino is a garden-themed cat cafe on Newcastle's Quayside, looking out over the River Tyne. It opened in 2015. Its eight permanent residents were raised from kittens by the owner and include Ragdolls, a Birman, Scottish Folds, a British Shorthair and an Exotic Shorthair, and they share the ground-floor cat lounge with rescue cats fostered for Friendz Feline that are rehomed from the cafe. Visitors pay an entry fee for up to an hour at a table, with extra hours charged at the same rate, and booking online with a small deposit is recommended. Children shorter than 120 cm are not admitted and each adult may bring up to two children. Hands are sanitised on entry, and visitors must not feed the cats or use flash. The menu has toasties, scones, cakes, hot chocolate and iced teas, and a cat-free basement holds more seating and a shop.

Kitty Café Nottingham
Nottingham
Kitty Café Nottingham is a cat cafe on Friar Lane in Nottingham city centre, a short walk from Old Market Square and Nottingham Castle. It is the Nottingham branch of Kitty Café, a self-funded cat rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming organisation with sister cafes in Birmingham and Leeds. The large lounge is laid out with wide open spaces, toys and climbing furniture for the rescue cats, and each table has sofas and armchairs. Visitors pay a welfare charge per person, with lower rates for children and on term-time weekdays, and can book online or walk in when tables are free. Children are welcome but under-16s must be supervised by an adult. The kitchen serves hot meals, jacket potatoes, pizza, afternoon tea, scones, milkshakes and mocktails, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. The venue is wheelchair accessible with changing facilities, and payment is by card only.

Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium
London
Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium is London's first cat cafe. It opened on Bethnal Green Road in 2014 and moved in April 2026 to King William Walk in Greenwich, a two-minute walk from Cutty Sark DLR station and close to the Cutty Sark and the gates of Greenwich Park. The cats are rescues the cafe takes in itself and fosters until they are adopted, and more than 80 have been rehomed since 2014. It keeps a small group of cats, so visits are quiet. Visitors book one-hour or 90-minute sessions online or walk in when there is space, and order food and drink on top of the entry fee. All baking is done in-house and is vegan, with scones and cream tea the specialities. No one under 12 is admitted, and the cats may not be picked up. On Wednesdays the cafe runs short, low-cost play sessions with takeaway drinks.

Kiko's Cat Cafe
Rye, East Sussex
Kiko's Cat Cafe is a rescue cat cafe on Winchelsea Road in Rye, East Sussex, within walking distance of the town centre and with two public car parks close by. Opened in September 2023, it moved in late 2025 from its first site at Rother Iron Works to a larger venue at 22a Winchelsea Road. The cats are fosters waiting for new homes, and adoptions are arranged with the partner charity PAW Society through an application, an independent home visit and a meeting with the whole household. Visits are hour-long sessions with an entry fee, booked online, and walk-ins are accepted when there is space. Guests must be 8 or older, remove their shoes and wash their hands on arrival, and leave bags in the boot room. The cafe serves specialty coffee, cakes, milkshakes and paninis, and runs occasional movie nights, birthday packages and a cat sponsorship scheme.

The Mau House
Colchester, Essex
The Mau House, formerly Meow Cat Cafe, is an adoption cat cafe on Eld Lane in Colchester town centre. Founded by Rebecca White in Halstead in 2023, the business moved entirely to this Colchester site in 2025, and it has rehomed several hundred cats since it began. Its cats come from rescuers it supports at home and abroad, many of them from the United Arab Emirates, and around a dozen live in the cafe at a time. Adoptions open in phases to keep a stable group, and some cats are offered for direct adoption. Visits are booked online for timed sessions with a per-person entry fee, cheaper for children, and under-twos enter free. Children of all ages are welcome, with one adult supervising no more than two children. Drinks, milkshakes and cakes are served, and the cafe is open every day.

Bedford Cat Café
Bedford
Bedford Cat Café is a cat cafe on the High Street in Bedford town centre, a short walk from the bus station and about 15 minutes on foot from Bedford railway station. Bedfordshire's first cat cafe, it reopened under new management in June 2025 and keeps a group of rescue cats from its partner, Peterborough Cat Rescue, including some disabled cats and cats with additional needs. Visitors pay a per-person admission fee and buy food and drinks on top; the menu includes hot food, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cakes and afternoon tea, which is ordered in advance. Tables are booked online, and booking is recommended at weekends and in school holidays, when walk-ins are not always possible. Children under 5 are not admitted. The cafe also runs cat yoga, weekly table-top games evenings, sip-and-paint classes, birthday parties and private hire.

Cafe Meow
Blackpool, Lancashire
Cafe Meow is a cat cafe on pedestrianised Birley Street in Blackpool town centre, about ten minutes on foot from Blackpool North station. Opened in October 2022 by a local couple with a background in hospitality, it was the resort's first cat cafe. Most of the cats living at the cafe are rescues up for adoption, supplied by two local charities, Cats in Care and Tenderpaws, and kittens are often in residence alongside a few resident cats. Visitors book an hour with the cats, and the entry fee includes one drink from the standard menu, with milkshakes, frappes, cakes and other food available at extra cost. Staff talk visitors through the adoption process, and the cafe has rehomed well over a hundred cats. The building has a ramp and an accessible toilet. It is closed on Wednesdays.

The Pawsome Cat Cafe
Durham
The Pawsome Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on North Road in Durham city centre, a few minutes' walk downhill from Durham station towards Framwellgate Bridge and the old city. It is home to resident cats and to rescue cats the cafe fosters until they are rehomed. Visits are booked as one-hour slots, with an entry fee that pays for vet bills, food and the cats' play areas; a small deposit is paid when booking online and the rest at the cafe, and walk-ins are taken when there is space. Children under six are not admitted and every two children need an adult. Shoes are removed at the door, so visitors are advised to bring socks, and washable slippers are available. The cafe serves hot drinks, including white hot chocolate, along with cakes and light snacks. It opens Wednesday to Sunday.

Darling Darlings Cat Lounge
Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
Darling Darlings Cat Lounge is a family-run cat cafe on Marine Parade on the Great Yarmouth seafront, opposite the horse and carriage stand and a few minutes on foot from Britannia Pier. Run by a mother and daughter, it is decorated as a retro time capsule, filled with memorabilia, toys and games from the 1950s to the early 2000s. About six resident cats, some of them rescues, live with the family and roam the lounge. Visits are hour-long sessions starting on the hour with a small entry fee per person, and food and drink such as sandwiches, waffles, milkshakes, cream teas and afternoon teas are ordered inside; teas need 48 hours' notice. Bookings are taken by phone and are advised, especially in summer. Opening is Tuesday to Saturday in the winter months and Tuesday to Sunday with longer hours from March to September.

Java Whiskers Marylebone

Java Whiskers Marylebone is a rescue cat cafe at 105 Great Portland Street, about seven minutes on foot from Great Portland Street station and eight from Oxford Circus. Opened in October 2020 as the first UK branch of the Swedish Java Whiskers chain, it spreads over two floors under a glass roof, with a step-free cat lounge on the ground floor and a kitten lounge downstairs. The cats and kittens come from The Scratching Post rescue in Waltham Abbey and are all available for adoption, and the chain's two London cafes have rehomed more than 1,000 cats. Visits are timed sessions of 55 minutes or longer, booked online, with separate tickets for each lounge, and drinks, cakes and sandwiches are ordered from the cafe. Children from six can enter the cat lounge and from ten the kitten lounge. Afternoon tea is served on set days, and the cafe is cashless.

Java Whiskers White City
London
Java Whiskers White City is a rescue cat cafe on Ariel Way beside Westfield London, about ten minutes on foot from Wood Lane, White City and both Shepherd's Bush stations. Opened in December 2022, it is the larger of the chain's two London branches, with an adult cat lounge and a separate kitten lounge behind glass, both step-free, plus outdoor seating. Around 30 cats and kittens from Furry Ears Rescue live here, and all are available for adoption. Visits are timed sessions of 55 minutes or longer, booked online, with separate tickets for each lounge; children from six can enter the cat lounge and from ten the kitten lounge. The licensed cafe serves coffee, cakes, sandwiches and afternoon tea. This branch hosts most of the chain's events, including kitten yoga, painting evenings and quiz nights, as well as birthday parties and private hire.

Paws for Thought Cat Cafe
Romsey, Hampshire
Paws for Thought Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Church Street in the centre of Romsey, Hampshire, close to Romsey Abbey. Opened in September 2018 by its founder, Emma, it is the permanent home of a small group of rescue cats, most of them brought from Romania with the help of the rescue Every Life Counts, including Emmy, who lost a leg before she arrived. The cats have both indoor and outdoor space. Visits are booked by the hour online or by phone, with a suggested cat care donation per person, and food and drink are paid for separately. Children must be over 6, and the number of children in the cafe at one time is limited. The menu offers sandwiches, paninis, toasties, cakes and coffee, and afternoon tea is served in two-hour bookings made 48 hours ahead. The cafe also runs cat sponsorships and a membership club.
