Cafe ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌​‌​​​‌​​​​‌‌‌‌​​⁠Neko is a cat cafe in Vienna's Innere Stadt, on the corner of Blumenstockgasse and Ballgasse, a short walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Stephansplatz U1 and U3 station. Opened in 2012 on the model of Japanese cat cafes, it was Austria's first. The cafe is now under new management, and a new group of resident cats moved in around the end of 2025. They roam the room among climbing walls, beds and toys and have retreat areas that guests cannot enter. There is no entry fee; visitors order from a menu of coffee, tea, homemade cakes and drinks, and cat latte art is offered. House rules ask guests not to wake sleeping cats or pick them up, and to let the cats decide when to be stroked. Children are admitted from age 8 with an adult. The cafe is open every day.

Klagenfurt, Carinthia

Das ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌‌​‌​​​​​​‌​‌​​‌​​‌‌​⁠Katzencafé, also known as Cat'n'Coffee, is a cat cafe on Paulitschgasse in Klagenfurt's old town, a few minutes' walk south of Neuer Platz. Opened in November 2015 by Verena Kulterer, it was the first cat cafe in Carinthia. Ten resident cats live in the cafe and move freely between the guests; the first group came from the Klagenfurt animal shelter TiKo, and after a full change of generations the older cats retired to the homes of staff members. There is no entry fee. The kitchen serves breakfast all day, homemade cakes and savoury dishes, smoothies and ice cream alongside coffee and tea. Reservations are requested at least 12 hours ahead and a table is held for 90 minutes. The cafe also runs events such as cat yoga sessions and singles evenings, and sells vouchers, merchandise and its own coffee.

Das ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌​‌‌‌‌​‌​‌‌​​​​‌‌​⁠House is a cat cafe and cocktail bar on Gumpendorfer Straße in Vienna's 6th district, Mariahilf, within walking distance of the U3 Neubaugasse and U4 Kettenbrückengasse stations and the Naschmarkt. It shares its room with rescued street cats from Istanbul, nine of them in mid-2026, which move freely between the tables and have a separate rest area that guests may not enter. Many of the cats are looking for homes, and visitors who want to adopt fill in an application so the team can check the match. There is no entry fee. By day the menu has breakfasts, waffles, Flammkuchen, ciabatta, cakes and coffee, with several vegan dishes, and on Friday and Saturday evenings it becomes a bar serving cat-themed cocktails until 1 AM. Coffee can be ordered with a printed photo on the milk foam, and tables can be booked online.
