Rescue Cat Cafe WISH
Rescue Cat Cafe WISH is an adoption cafe in the Shinmachi district of Ome run by Ome Nyan Nyan Circle WISH, a volunteer group that rescues cats, promotes neutering of outdoor cats and finds homes for cats that cannot live outside. The cafe opens on weekend afternoons, mostly Saturdays, from 1 p.m., closing an hour earlier in the winter months, and the group posts each month's dates on its blog. Visits are charged per 30 minutes, with a lower rate for students and free entry for preschool children, and masks and socks are required. Besides matching cats with adopters, the cafe is meant as a place where people who cannot keep a cat can spend time with one. The group reports rehoming dozens of cats a year through the cafe, and proceeds from its handmade cat goods go to the rescued cats.

NEKOZATO Satooyakai is a weekly cat adoption gathering held at the group's own premises in Tomioka, Ome, a rural spot surrounded by rice fields. It is linked to the local volunteer groups Inochi wo Kangaeru Kai Ome and Ome Sakura Neko Club, which carry out trap-neuter-return work and take in kittens and cats that cannot be returned outdoors. Every Sunday afternoon, visitors can walk in and interact freely with the cats in a relaxed, cat-cafe-like setting while finding out about adoption. Sora Cafe Neko no Niwa is a cafe with resident rescue cats on the fifth floor of a building in Toyooka, Iruma, about three minutes on foot from Irumashi Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. It first opened in 2026 and reopened in July after a pause. The cafe area, with large windows over the town, is separated from the cats' room, called the garden, by glass, so guests can watch the cats over lunch or coffee without going in. There is no age limit, so families with young children are welcome. Wi-Fi is available, Fridays start at 8 AM with a morning service, and the cafe closes on Mondays, Thursdays and public holidays.

It opened in July 2022, and its name, meaning "cat base", is a nod to the nearby Iruma Air Base and the hope that the cats will take off to new homes. Almost all of the cats in the room are looking for families. Alongside Japanese mixes, they have included Himalayans, Munchkins, Ragdolls, Scottish Folds, Norwegian Forest Cats and Minuets, and the cafe has rehomed many cats to households in Saitama and Tokyo. Visitors can drop in to play with the cats, and anyone interested in adopting can talk to the staff. Opening days vary and there are irregular closures, so it is worth checking the cafe's Instagram before visiting. Parking is at nearby coin car parks.
