Nikemin House

Nikemin House is a small cat cafe run by a married couple on Kaede-dori in Higashicho, Iruma. It moved here in December 2022 from its original spot in Johnson Town, about ten minutes' walk away; from Irumashi Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line it is around 30 minutes on foot or 15 minutes by taxi, and there are three free parking spaces. About 23 cats live at the cafe, roughly half of them the owners' own pets and half rescue cats fostered for volunteer groups and offered for adoption, across a range of breeds and ages. Visits are charged per 30 minutes or per hour, with lower rates for children and a two-hour maximum. Preschool children are not admitted, and elementary and junior high school students need a guardian. Seating is limited to about seven people, so phone reservations are recommended. It opens only on weekends and public holidays.
