Purrs and Pages
Purrs and Pages is a used bookstore and cat lounge on East Silver Springs Boulevard, just east of downtown Ocala, Florida, and the city's first cat cafe. It opened in June 2026. The front of the shop sells books, many of them cat-themed, along with gifts, pastries and bottled drinks, and visitors can watch the cats from there for free. In the separate cat lounge at the back, guests book timed hangout sessions with around 18 cats, a few permanent residents and the rest adoptable cats from House Meow, a local rescue. Each adoptable cat has a QR code that links to its profile and the adoption application. A waiver and house rules apply in the cat room. The shop also holds cat yoga, meditation, painting nights, bingo and reading events for children, and is open every day.

DeLand Cat Cafe
Deland, Florida52 mi / 83 km
DeLand Cat Cafe is a cat adoption lounge on East New York Avenue in DeLand, West Volusia County's only cat cafe. Its building is split in two: one side is the cage-free cat lounge and the other is Trilogy Kitchen, a coffee shop serving breakfast and lunch, so visitors order coffee, tea or food there and carry it into the cat area. The lounge is set up like a living room, with Wi-Fi, books and a separate kitten room where visits are kept short. Adult cats and kittens are fostered for several Volusia County rescues and can be adopted. Admission is charged per person per hour, with a lower price for children 12 and under. Reservations are made on the website, and walk-ins are not guaranteed entry. The cat lounge is open Wednesday to Sunday from late morning to mid-afternoon, and a dog-friendly patio has outdoor seating.

Purradise Springs Cat Sanctuary
Fort White, Florida64 mi / 102 km
Purradise Springs is a free-roaming cat sanctuary and private retreat on a nine-acre rural property in Fort White, a few minutes from Ichetucknee Springs State Park in Columbia County. It is run by Denise and Thom Howard through their nonprofit Purrapy Inc. and is home to more than 150 cats, mostly abused, abandoned and legacy adult cats, with no kittens or unneutered cats. The sanctuary funds itself by renting out four air-conditioned glamping tents on Airbnb, so guests can stay overnight among the cats, and some visitors use a stay to bond with a cat before adopting. It is a private property rather than a drop-in venue, and visits have to be arranged in advance or booked as a stay. The owners warn that a working sanctuary has smells and mess, so it suits committed cat lovers.
