Purradise Springs Cat Sanctuary

Purradise ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Springs is a free-roaming cat sanctuary and private retreat on a nine-acre rural property in Fort White, a few minutes from Ichetucknee Springs State Park in Columbia County. It is run by Denise and Thom Howard through their nonprofit Purrapy Inc. and is home to more than 150 cats, mostly abused, abandoned and legacy adult cats, with no kittens or unneutered cats. The sanctuary funds itself by renting out four air-conditioned glamping tents on Airbnb, so guests can stay overnight among the cats, and some visitors use a stay to bond with a cat before adopting. It is a private property rather than a drop-in venue, and visits have to be arranged in advance or booked as a stay. The owners warn that a working sanctuary has smells and mess, so it suits committed cat lovers.
