Cat Cafe Neko-no-mise

Cat Cafe Neko-no-mise, known locally as Nekonomise, is a long-running cat cafe in Machida, Tokyo. Opened in 2005, it is one of Japan's pioneering cat cafes, designed around the concept of a home-like living room shared with cats. The interior invites guests to slip off their shoes and settle into cozy kotatsu seating, comfortable sofas, or table seats suited to laptop work and study. Resident cats range widely in age, giving visitors the chance to spend quiet time with a mix of personalities in a casual, welcoming space. Refreshments center on drinks, with teas such as Darjeeling and Earl Grey, plum kombu-cha, and a free-flow drink server featuring soups. Extras include over 2,000 manga to read, power outlets, and Wi-Fi. A time-based pricing system lets guests linger at their own pace.
