Neko Cafe Nyanko

This cafe has been temporarily closed since 8 September 2026 because of flooding. The cats are safe, and the cafe aims to reopen in November 2026.

Neko ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Cafe Nyanko (猫カフェ にゃんこ) is a small cat cafe at 101 Nishiyamadai in Meito Ward, in the eastern residential suburbs of Nagoya, about 1.5 km from Hoshigaoka Station on the Higashiyama Line, with parking on site. Thirteen resident cats live here, most of them flat-faced breeds such as Exotics, Exotic and Scottish Fold crosses and Himalayans, and the staff call them the cafe's cat staff; they are not up for adoption. Visits cost ¥1,000 per hour plus a drink, and elementary school children pay half price. Preschool children are not admitted, socks are required, bags go in lockers, and the cats can't be picked up. Reservations get priority, and no more than five guests are admitted at a time. Visitors read the house rules on arrival, and treats can be bought from a capsule machine. It is usually open from 10 AM to 5 PM (last entry 4 PM) and closed on Saturdays. The cafe closed temporarily after flooding on 8 September 2026, moved the cats to safety, and said it was aiming to reopen in November 2026.
