Nanairo Shippo
Nanairo Shippo is a permanent weekend adoption space for rescued cats in a residential area of Wakamiya, Hayashima, run by a volunteer rescue group. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, rescued adult cats and kittens roam a free space where visitors can play with them, whether or not they plan to adopt. Entry works as a donation to the cats: a 30-minute first-visit course and a one-hour course that includes a bottled drink, with lower amounts for junior and senior high school students and free entry for elementary school children and younger. A small shop sells cat goods and handmade items to support the rescue work, and a veterinary consultation is available by booking during opening hours. Opening times vary from week to week and are posted on the group's blog, and some weekends are skipped. The phone is answered only during opening hours.
