Meowter Banks Cat Café is the Outer Banks' first cat cafe, opened in 2025 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The cafe fosters adoptable cats from the OBX SPCA, housing around eight to nine cats at a time in a dedicated cat room separate from the cafe area. Visitors can enjoy coffee, tea, and baked goods from local bakeries in the cafe section, or pay a modest entry fee to spend time with the resident felines. One-hour visits cost $18 for adults and $15 for children ages 7 to 10, with half-hour options available. The cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday and walk-ins are welcome, though calling ahead to reserve is recommended.
