Inspired by founder Julie Easterbrooks’ visit to a cat cafe in Nottingham, England, during a delayed 2019 honeymoon, this 3,047-square-foot haven partners with four local shelters—including Chesapeake Humane Society—to house friendly, healthy, and adoptable cats in two spacious rooms: a high-energy kitten area and a serene cat lounge. Open Monday, Wednesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Tuesdays), guests pay $15 for 50 minutes with kittens or $12 for an hour with cats, enjoying a menu of espresso drinks, craft beers, wines, and food options like vegan/vegetarian dishes, kosher hot dogs, and “Res Q” BBQ brisket sandwiches, all within a mining-themed interior featuring local art.
