Kaname Nyanko-tei

Kaname Nyanko-tei is a rescue cat café in the Ikebukuro area of Toshima City, Tokyo, a short walk from Kanamecho station and about twelve minutes from Ikebukuro's west exit. Every cat in the lounge is a rescue waiting for a new home, and the café also runs a lifelong foster program for cats that need long-term care. Visits are charged by time, with unlimited drinks included, and children from elementary to high school age pay half price, while preschoolers enter free with a guardian. Guests are asked to wear socks in the cat room. The café opens every day from midday to 9pm and regularly holds adoption events, making it a calm, community-minded alternative to the big chain cafés around Ikebukuro station.
