Hogo Neko Shelter QUEUE
Hogo Neko Shelter QUEUE is an open-style rescue cat shelter in Kyodo, Setagaya, about three minutes on foot from the south exit of Kyodo Station on the Odakyu Line. Opened in 2018 as the cat shelter of the nonprofit Inu Neko Project and run with volunteer staff, it usually cares for around 20 cats, from kittens to seniors, that have lost their homes for various reasons. Anyone may visit, whether or not they plan to adopt, and the cats move freely around the room so visitors can play with and stroke them. Entry is paid as a donation charged per 30 minutes, which supports the cats' care, and the shelter rehomes its cats through its own adoption process. The building has an auto-lock entrance, so visitors call room 301 to be let in. The shelter is closed on Wednesdays.
