SANCHACO Cat Workspace
SANCHACO is a cat-centred complex in Taishido, Setagaya, about five minutes on foot from Sangenjaya Station. It combines rental homes for tenants who adopt rescue cats, a rental shop space, and the neco-makers workspace, where resident rescue cats wander among the desks and happily get in the way of work. The cats are fostered in the shared space in partnership with local rescue groups and cared for by neighbourhood volunteers while they wait for new families, and adoption events are held from time to time. The workspace runs on a monthly membership, and trial drop-in visits can be booked in advance. Visitors may stroke and photograph the cats and give them the treats provided, and the space has fast Wi-Fi, power outlets and a simple kitchen. It is open every day, though it may close for adoption events on weekends and holidays.
