Hiroshima Neko Bugyo

Hiroshima Neko Bugyo is an adoption-focused rescue cat cafe in the Hondori shopping arcade in central Hiroshima, about three minutes on foot from the Tatemachi tram stop. Opened in March 2019, it cares for dozens of rescued cats, many taken in as strays or from the local animal shelter, and matches them with adopters after an interview. The third-floor room has a bright Japanese-style interior, and kittens often wait in a separate space near the entrance where they greet visitors. The entrance is through the ground-floor eyeglasses shop, then by elevator to the third floor. Visits are charged per 30 minutes, with a 45-minute option that includes a packaged drink, and treats can be bought for the cats. Numbers in the cat room are limited. The cafe opens at noon on weekdays and at 10 AM on weekends and holidays, and closes only on New Year's Day.
