Goodwill Cat Connection
Goodwill Cat Connection is a cat lounge run by Goodwill Industries Serving Southeast Nebraska on O Street in downtown Lincoln, opened in March 2026 as the city's first cat cafe-style space. Visitors book paid time to relax and play with adoptable cats from the Capital Humane Society, whose resident list changes as cats find homes. Since August 2026 visitors can also buy specialty lattes from Ellie's, Goodwill's on-site training cafe, which gives food-service experience to people in Goodwill's job programs. Booking members must be at least 16, children must be supervised, and everyone agrees to the lounge rules, known as the Claws Clause, before entering. Guests who want to adopt can use the Capital Humane Society kiosk on site to request an adoption appointment. The lounge can also be booked for parties and group events, and it relies on volunteers and donations.

Espurresso Cat Cafe
Lawrence, Kansas149 mi / 240 km
Espurresso Cat Cafe is a coffee shop on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence, a few blocks from South Park and the University of Kansas campus. Opened in July 2023 as Lawrence's first cat cafe, it serves locally roasted coffee, tea and baked goods made in-house, with vegan options daily. The adoptable cats and kittens come from the Lawrence Humane Society and live in the Purrlor, a plexiglass-walled enclosure with its own ventilation, so the cafe itself is comfortable for people with allergies and the bar seating looks straight in. Purrlor visits are paid by the half hour or hour, with reservations encouraged on weekends and walk-ins welcome when slots are free; only seven guests are inside at a time, and each adult may bring up to two children. Adoptions can be completed on the spot, and the fees go to the humane society.
