Sunflower Cat Cafe
Sunflower Cat Cafe is Manhattan's first cat cafe, set inside Sunflower Natural Pet Supplies, a locally owned pet store on Kimball Avenue in northwest Manhattan, a short drive from the Kansas State University campus. The cafe fosters a small group of adoptable cats, usually around six or seven, for Cattails, a local cat rescue, and visitors spend time with them in a cozy lounge while trying the cafe's menu of homemade food, such as quesadillas, muffins and cupcakes baked from scratch, along with coffee and other drinks. Visits are short paid sessions, and on weekdays entry comes with a food or drink purchase. Students use it as a study-break spot. The cafe also hosts cat yoga, movie nights for adults and fundraisers for Cattails, and adoptions of the cafe cats are arranged with the rescue.

Espurresso Cat Cafe
Lawrence, Kansas76 mi / 122 km
Espurresso Cat Cafe is a coffee shop on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence, a few blocks from South Park and the University of Kansas campus. Opened in July 2023 as Lawrence's first cat cafe, it serves locally roasted coffee, tea and baked goods made in-house, with vegan options daily. The adoptable cats and kittens come from the Lawrence Humane Society and live in the Purrlor, a plexiglass-walled enclosure with its own ventilation, so the cafe itself is comfortable for people with allergies and the bar seating looks straight in. Purrlor visits are paid by the half hour or hour, with reservations encouraged on weekends and walk-ins welcome when slots are free; only seven guests are inside at a time, and each adult may bring up to two children. Adoptions can be completed on the spot, and the fees go to the humane society.
