Cat Cafe Fukuneko

Cat Cafe Fukuneko is a detached-house cat cafe in Funabashishin, in the north of Fukui City, about 15 to 20 minutes on foot from Nittazuka Station on the Echizen Railway, with the Funabashishin bus stop close by. Opened in 2015 by a cat-loving parent and child, it was built from scratch for cats, with high catwalks, cat towers and a see-through floor section where visitors can watch the cats from below. Around 22 cats live here, most of them former rescues and several related as parents and siblings, and many are large, relaxed cats that enjoy being stroked. Visits are charged by time from 30 minutes, cat treats can be bought, and drinks and desserts are served. Children must be of junior high school age or older. The cafe closes on Tuesdays and has free parking.
