Sydney's Cat Lounge
Austin, Texas
Sydney's Cat Lounge is a cat lounge on East 7th Street in the Govalle area of East Austin. It opened on November 4, 2025, and is run by Sydney's Sanctuary, a nonprofit cat rescue founded in 2024 by Quin and Alex Whiddon. The decor draws on Alice in Wonderland and Bridgerton, with castle walls, thrones, teacup chairs, mushrooms and a wall of clocks, and the backyard has a catio and a small topiary hedge maze. Its cats come from Lockhart Animal Shelter and Central Texas Feline Rescue and can be adopted by applying in person or online. Visits are 45-minute sessions booked in advance, with one ticket per guest and a signed waiver; guests must be 6 or older, and those 16 and under need an adult. Drinks include coffee, herbal teas, specialty sodas, beer, wine and zero-proof cocktails. Military members and first responders get 25% off weekday visits. It is closed on Mondays.

Cool Cat Collective
Long Beach, California
Cool Cat Collective is a cat-themed gallery and boutique on East 4th Street's Retro Row in Long Beach that also houses adoptable foster cats. The shop sells cat art prints, books, ceramics, toys and treats from independent artists and makers, holds rotating art shows and cat-focused community events, and gives part of its profits to cat rescues. The foster cats come from TippedEars, a nonprofit that works with community cats, and live in a glass-fronted kitty playhouse with a catwalk and catio. Anyone can watch the cats, and visitors can go inside to play with them after signing a waiver, with no entry fee. Adults may enter alone and children aged 6 and up with a parent or guardian, two children per adult at most, and only four people are allowed in the main enclosure at a time. Adoptions go through TippedEars. The shop is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Nine Lives Café
West Palm Beach, Florida
Nine Lives Café is a nonprofit cat cafe and wellness space on North Dixie Highway in the Northwood area of West Palm Beach, north of downtown. The front cafe, which has no cats, serves specialty coffee, matcha, tea and pastries and looks into the cat room through glass. Next door, the Cat Heaven room is home to rescue cats and kittens waiting for adoption, and visitors pay a separate hourly admission to spend time with them, with reduced rates for children 11 and under and seniors 65 and over. Booking ahead by phone is recommended. Adoptions are arranged on site. The cafe also runs mat Pilates classes in the company of the cats, offers memberships and hosts community events, including free activities for women and children. It is a woman-owned and Black-owned business with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking on site, and it is closed on Mondays.

April's Kittens
Forest Park, Illinois
April's Kittens is a nonprofit cat rescue with a cat lounge on Roosevelt Road in Forest Park, just west of Chicago. Opened in May 2026, it focuses on cats that are injured, medically complex or have special needs, rehabilitating them before adoption, and it also works to widen access to affordable veterinary care for stray cats and low-income families. Visitors spend an hour with the adoptable cats in the front lounge, where a community mural of hand-painted cat portraits covers one wall. Admission is lower when booked online than for walk-ins, and one fee is credited back with a same-day adoption. Children under 10 are not admitted, visitors under 18 need an adult with them, and everyone signs a waiver. Same-day adoptions are possible for adopters over 20 who are present at the visit; cats are not held or reserved.

Paws and Claws Cat Adoption Center

Paws and Claws Cat Adoption Center is the Evanston home of Paws and Claws Cat Rescue, on Chicago Avenue across from the Main Street Purple Line station. The rescue focuses on cats at risk because of their appearance, medical or behavioral needs, or overcrowded shelters. Through its Cuddle Cats visitor hours, anyone can book a 45-minute session with free-roaming adoptable cats and kittens spread across four rooms, with no interest in adopting required. Sessions run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, are by reservation only, and carry a required donation per person. Visitors sign a waiver and hear a short introduction to the rescue first, children under 18 come with an adult, and cats should not be picked up. Other visitors share each session, which is capped in size. Adoption is handled separately and starts with an application. The rescue also holds kitten yoga and other events.

Cat Nap Hangout & Adoptions
Huntington Beach, California
Cat Nap Hangout & Adoptions is a cat lounge and adoption center on Warner Avenue in Huntington Beach, run by the nonprofit Alfies Kitten Rescue. More than 50 rescued cats and kittens, most of them found on the streets, live in a large, home-like space with couches and a quiet room for shyer cats. Visitors pay an entry donation, with lower rates for children under 10, seniors and veterans, and can stay as long as they like; walk-ins and online bookings are both accepted. A waiver is required, younger children must be with an adult, and teens 13 to 17 may enter alone. There is no cafe, but guests may bring food and drinks. Adoptions are handled only through the lounge, so prospective adopters meet the cats there. The rescue also holds bingo nights, movie nights, cat yoga, study nights and private parties, and sells annual memberships.

Lone Star Pawz CATfé
Pearland, Texas
Lone Star Pawz CATfé in Pearland, Texas, combines a coffee stop with a cat lounge where guests can meet adoptable cats and a few permanent residents. Signature lattes and packaged snacks are available from the Bodega menu, and cats roam throughout the CATfé. Most can be adopted through Lone Star PAWZ rescue's application process. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, although they are not required. The lounge welcomes visitors aged six and over, and children under twelve need an accompanying adult in the cat room. Outside animals are not allowed. Visits support the rescue's work while giving people a chance to spend time with its cats.

Catfé
Santa Clarita, California
Catfé is a small cat lounge in a shopping plaza on Via Princessa in Canyon Country, Santa Clarita, and was the city's first cat cafe when it opened in 2025. Around 18 cats, from kittens to adults, live in the lounge, and every one is available for adoption through its rescue partner, Kitten Rescue Los Angeles. Visits are booked online as 30-minute or one-hour sessions, and longer study and work sessions run on some days. Guests are asked to reserve ahead, arrive a few minutes early and sign in before entering. There is no kitchen; visitors can bring food and drinks from neighbouring plaza businesses such as a bagel shop and a taco stand, and small cat treats can be bought to feed the cats. Free parking is available in the plaza. Catfé also hosts birthday parties and private events and offers memberships and volunteer roles.

Little Lions Social Club is a cat lounge and creative space on Imperial Street in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District. Typically 15 to 20 adoptable cats from the rescue Friends of Normie share two rooms: a larger, light-filled lounge with comfortable seating, low tables and designer cat furniture, and a smaller reading room with a bookshelf of cat books. Visits are three-hour sessions in fixed daytime and evening slots, booked online; walk-ins are taken when there is space, and bookings cannot be changed or refunded. Self-serve tea is included, while outside food and drink are not allowed. Children under 10 are not admitted, and older children need an adult. Guests can read, draw from the craft drawer or browse a small gallery of cat art. Ticketed events include movie nights, live music, cat yoga, sound baths, ikebana and mahjong. Cat's Meow

Cat's Meow is a cat lounge and vintage boutique on Devonshire Street in Chatsworth, at the corner of Devonshire and Jordan, inside the West End Arts Collective. It was founded by Kelly Holland, who also runs the rescue The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA), and opened in October 2026. The cats in the lounge are adoptable TARA rescues, and their number varies as cats are adopted. Visits are 50-minute sessions booked online, limited to eight guests, and each includes a drink and a snack; outside food and drink are not allowed. Every guest signs a waiver, children must be at least 5, and under-16s need a supervising parent. Guests are asked not to pick up the cats. Morning Kitten Club sessions are aimed at families, and evening events include movie nights, crafts and sound baths. The boutique sells vintage and upcycled clothing and art by appointment.

Catnip Coalition Vintage Mall
Burbank, California
Catnip Coalition Vintage Mall is a cat-themed vintage and thrift collective on Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank's Magnolia Park shopping district, with a large cat sculpture above the entrance. Opened in 2023 by Meghan Cassaday, a former vet tech, it houses dozens of vendor booths selling vintage clothing, pop-culture items, jewelry and cat art. Two resident cats, Franklin and Nigel, a bonded pair adopted from Best Friends Animal Society, roam the shop, and between two and eight adoptable rescue cats or kittens from Kitten Rescue, NELA Cats and Stray Cat Alliance stay in the store and its front windows; kittens are most reliably there on weekends. Entry is free and no booking is needed. Part of the proceeds goes to local cat rescue and trap-neuter-return work, and the shop has helped more than 120 cats find homes.

Mochi Kittos
Gardena, California
Mochi Kittos is a cat cafe and Japanese mochi shop on Normandie Avenue in Gardena, in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. The front of the shop is a cafe counter selling handmade mochi from a family recipe tradition of about 70 years, along with coffee, tea and seasonal drinks, and the back is a calm cat lounge designed by the veterinarian founder. All the cats are rescues fostered in the lounge through Friends of Normie and can be adopted through that rescue. Lounge visits are 50-minute sessions with an entry fee per guest, slightly higher on weekends, and reservations are recommended. Visitors must be at least 7 years old, and shoes come off before entering the cat room. There is also a viewing window for people with cat allergies. The cafe side opens earlier than the lounge, and both are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
