Catmosphere
Collingswood, New Jersey
Catmosphere is a coffee shop and cat lounge on Haddon Avenue in Collingswood, Camden County, opened in July 2026 by owners Sophia and Marcus. The cafe serves coffee from Puerto Rican roasters, lattes, lemonades and baked treats, sells beans to take home and showcases products from local makers. Next to it is a separate cat room with around ten adoptable cats and kittens, which come through the shelter Homeward Bound and can be adopted from the cafe. Cat room sessions last an hour and are booked online, and walk-ins can join a session already in progress at a reduced price, starting 20 minutes after the hour. The cafe area is free to enter. Outside animals are not allowed. The cat room is also rented out for birthday parties and private gatherings.

Kitty Co. Cat Rescue and Lounge
Bridgeville, Pennsylvania
Kitty Co. Cat Rescue and Lounge is the public cat lounge of Kitty Co. Cat Rescue, a volunteer-led, no-kill nonprofit founded during the pandemic that serves Bridgeville and the surrounding South Hills. The lounge opened in February 2026 on Baldwin Street, next to Mutt Manor, and gives visitors a cozy room of seating and toys in which to spend time with cats and kittens of every age and temperament that are adoptable or being prepared for adoption. Visits are charged by the half hour or hour, walk-ins are welcome during the limited open hours, and guests wear shoe covers. Cats should not be lifted without asking, and children under 16 must be supervised. Snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice are sold for a small fee. Visitors do not have to adopt, and the rescue also runs a pet supply pantry and looks for volunteers and fosters.

The Catz Den
Wayland, Michigan
The Catz Den is a nonprofit community space and small cat cafe on South Main Street in downtown Wayland, about 15 minutes south of Grand Rapids. It partners with The Country Cat Lady, a rescue that raises its rescued kittens to become emotional support and therapy animals, and the resident therapy cats spend time with visitors in the main room. A separate adoption room houses cats and kittens available through The Country Cat Lady and can be visited for a donation. Coffee and low-cost snacks are served during coffee and kitty hours on weekday mornings. The Den focuses on teens and families: during the school year it runs a VIP Teens after-school program, and it rents out the space for meetings and private events. Hours vary by day.

Milky & Coco's Kit-Tea Café
Vancouver, Washington
Milky & Coco's Kit-Tea Café is a cat café on East Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver, Washington, near Sky Zone. Opened in July 2026 as Clark County's first cat café, it has a public café serving coffee from Vancouver roaster Kafiex, loose-leaf teas from Dandelion Teahouse & Apothecary, boba and snacks, and a gift shop stocked by local artists. A separate, socks-only cat lounge is home to adoptable cats from the Vancouver shelter Furry Friends, which handles adoptions while the café fosters the cats; more than a hundred have been adopted since opening. Lounge visits last an hour and start on the hour, with cheaper half-hour drop-ins on weekdays. Booking ahead is recommended, and walk-ins are taken when there is room. Guests must be at least eight, and children aged 8 to 13 enter free with a paying adult. Events include cat yoga, sound baths, paint-and-sip nights and craft workshops.

Paws and Pumpkins Rescue
Forest Grove, Oregon
Paws and Pumpkins Rescue is a nonprofit cat rescue with a free-roaming cat lounge on Main Street in Forest Grove, next door to Penny Jaymes Boutique. Founded in Monmouth in 2023, it moved to Forest Grove in autumn 2025. The rescue takes in cats other shelters find hard to place, such as former colony strays, cats with FIV and cats with special needs, and all of its adoptable cats live in the lounge. Visitors pay a fee for an hour with the cats and get treats to offer them. Bookings get priority, walk-ins are welcome, and Tuesdays are by reservation only. No more than ten guests are allowed in the cat area at once, food and drink stay outside, and cats must not be picked up. Would-be adopters visit at least twice on different days. A gift shop with a thrift section, memberships and movie nights help fund the rescue.

Whiskers Cat Lounge
Corvallis, Oregon
Whiskers Cat Lounge is a cat lounge and adoption satellite of Heartland Humane Shelter & Care, the Benton County shelter, located inside the shelter's Cat's Meow Thrift Shop on NW Kings Boulevard in northwest Corvallis. It had its grand opening together with the relocated thrift shop in April 2026 and combines a snack bar and small retail area with a lounge where adoptable cats from the shelter live and roam freely. Visitors book 50-minute sessions online, with walk-ins admitted as space allows, and the room holds up to eight people per hour. The session fee supports the care of the cats at the lounge and at the main shelter. Visitors must be at least 8, children under 13 need an adult guardian, and all guests sign a waiver. Cats can be adopted through Heartland Humane, and the lounge hosts craft and painting classes, yoga, bingo and private bookings.

LEFT COAST Coffee Co.
Lincoln City, Oregon
LEFT COAST Coffee Co. is a small-batch coffee roaster with a coffee bar on Highway 101 at the north end of the Nelscott shopping district in south Lincoln City, in a historic building, with a second location in Depoe Bay. The Lincoln City shop works with Recycled Felines, an all-volunteer Newport nonprofit that rescues orphaned newborn and medically fragile kittens from around Lincoln County, and keeps a back room of adoptable rescue kittens and young cats that customers are invited to visit while they drink their coffee. There is no entry fee or booking; the kittens are a free extra for coffee customers, and adoptions are arranged with Recycled Felines. The coffee bar makes espresso drinks and hand-brewed coffee one cup at a time and sells the roaster's own blends, brewing equipment and merchandise. Opening hours are short, generally mornings to mid-afternoon, so check before a visit.

Twice Sold Tales
Seattle, Washington
Twice Sold Tales is a used and rare bookstore on Harvard Avenue in Capitol Hill, a short walk from Capitol Hill light rail station, known for the rescue cats that live in the shop. Around six resident cats roam the maze of shelves, nooks and reading corners, and visitors can pet them and find them napping among the books. The cats live at the store full time and are not available for adoption. There is no entry fee or booking: the shop is open to everyone every day, and the cats are part of an ordinary visit to browse thousands of secondhand and collectible titles. The store has been trading in Seattle since 1987 and also buys books from the public on weekdays. It is not a cafe, so there is no food or drink, and the cats may be asleep or out of sight at any given time.
Catcetera Cat Lounge
Raritan, New Jersey
Catcetera Cat Lounge is a free-roam cat lounge on West Somerset Street in downtown Raritan, Somerset County's first cat cafe, opened in March 2026 by co-owners Wendi Zimmerman and Jessica Adams. Around 30 adoptable cats live in the lounge through foster partnerships with Project MEOW of Philadelphia and Beacon of Hope Animal Rescue, with quieter areas for kittens and shy cats, and adoption fees go back to the rescues. Visits are 50-minute sessions booked online, with walk-ins taken when there is space and one adult required for every two minors. No food or drink is sold, but guests may bring their own from nearby businesses and keep it away from the cats. The calendar is unusually full: cat yoga, senior Thursdays, sensory-friendly quiet nights, adult nights, LGBTQIA+ teen nights, kids' story time, trivia, bingo and remote-work hours. A shop sells cat-themed gifts and local art.

Fables & Fur
Altamonte Springs, Florida
Fables & Fur is a cat cafe and fantasy bookstore on State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, about half a mile west of Interstate 4 and roughly ten miles north of downtown Orlando. The cafe counter and the bookshop, which stocks only fantasy, romantasy and related genres alongside goods from local makers, are open to everyone without a booking. The cat lounge is a separate room that needs a reservation, although walk-ins are accepted when there is space. The resident cats are adoptable through Cats-Can, a Seminole County rescue, and staff can help with the adoption process during a visit. The lounge closes for a cat nap each afternoon from about 3 PM to 4 PM. The business hosts book events and offers memberships, accepts cards only, and is closed on Wednesdays.

The Chat - A Cat Cafe
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
The Chat - A Cat Cafe is in the Rose District of downtown Broken Arrow, just off Main Street and about 20 minutes from central Tulsa. It has two sides: a cafe that is free to enter, with coffee, tea, quiche, sweets and simple snacks, games, cat-themed books and a small gift shop, and a separate cat lounge with adoptable cats from the Broken Arrow Animal Shelter and other rescues. The lounge is fitted with a wooden cat tree, climbing ladder, spiral staircase, cat treadmill and wall-mounted furniture. Visits are paid by the half hour or the hour, with lower hourly rates for seniors, military, students and small children, and the fees help pay for veterinary care, food, litter, spay and neuter surgery and testing. Guests can buy treats to feed the cats. Walk-ins are welcome, and reservations are taken for groups and out-of-town visitors. Birthday parties can be booked.

Cool Cats Cafe and Lounge
Jacksonville, North Carolina
Cool Cats Cafe and Lounge is a family-owned cat cafe on Gum Branch Road in Jacksonville, Onslow County, within reach of Camp Lejeune and New River Air Station, and opened on July 31, 2026. The owners modeled it on a small cat cafe they visited in Florida on a spring break trip. Every cat comes from Onslow County Animal Services and is available for adoption, and 25 cats had been adopted within the first month. Guests book 30-minute or 60-minute sessions in a separate cat lounge, with sessions starting on the half hour and a ticket for each guest aged one and over. All ages are welcome, but children under 16 must be supervised, with one adult for every three children. Socks stay on in the lounge. The cafe area sells packaged snacks and drinks, and no outside food or drink is allowed.
