Tuscumbia, Alabama

Colbert County Cat Cafe is a unique feline retreat at 5010 Missouri Street in Tuscumbia, Alabama, within Colbert County, offering an innovative twist on animal shelter adoption spaces as part of Colbert County Animal Services. Launched with a grand opening on June 29, 2024, this cafe provides a spacious, interactive habitat where visitors can relax with adoptable rescue cats in a cozy, open setting built from a renovated portable shed, complete with cat towers, bridges, and an outdoor deck for fresh-air lounging. Spearheaded by shelter director Corey Speegle and supported by grants and donations (including a $5,000 individual gift and funding from local organizations), it aims to ease shelter overcrowding while giving cats a playful environment to meet potential adopters.
