Fat ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​​​‌​​​​‌​​‌​​‌​​​‌​​‌‌‌‌‌‌‌​‌⁠Cat Cafe is a nonprofit cat cafe and feline adoption center on East Park Avenue near Governor's Square Mall in Tallahassee, the city's first cat cafe. It opened in August 2017 and is run by Feline Advocates of Leon County, which also runs the Fat Cat Books bookstore. The cafe side is small, with pod coffee, bottled sodas, tea, water and snacks, and Betty's Boutique sells work by local artists and makers. Most of the space is the adoption room, where visitors pay an hourly entry fee to spend time with cats from several Tallahassee rescues, all spayed or neutered, tested, vaccinated and microchipped. Walk-ins are always welcome. Children under 12 must stay with an adult, and children under two enter free. The cafe had found homes for more than 1,900 cats by 2026. It is open Wednesday to Sunday.

Tally ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌​​‌​​​​​‌‌​​​​‌​‌​​​‌‌​⁠Cat Cafe is a coffee bar and cat lounge on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee, opened in May 2018 by three friends who had volunteered with the Leon County Humane Society. The front cafe serves coffee, espresso, cold brew, tea, boba, smoothies, beer and wine with pastries, and bar seating along a viewing window overlooks the lounge. The cats live in a separate Cat Lounge, which serves as a foster home for the humane society's adoptable cats and kittens. Hourly lounge visits can be reserved online at a slightly lower price than walk-ins, which depend on space, and drinks can be taken inside. Children under five are not allowed in, and those under 13 need an adult and should not pick the cats up. Adoptions follow the humane society's process, and the cafe passed 2,000 adoptions in 2026. It is open every day.

It opened in Railroad Square in October 2020 and moved to its current building in 2026, reopening there in September. Adoptable adult and senior cats roam freely among the shelves and armchairs, so visitors can browse and spend time with them in the same room. All the books are donated and sold at low prices to fund the cats' care, and a small boutique sells stickers, magnets, candles, soaps and jewelry from local makers. The cats are spayed or neutered, tested, microchipped and vaccinated, and can be adopted through an application to the rescue. The shop also hosts art exhibits and First Friday events. It is open Thursday to Sunday.
