貓境
New Taipei City
貓境 is a cat cafe on Ren'ai Road in Yonghe District, New Taipei City, with dining rooms on the second and third floors above a ground-floor entrance. More than a dozen resident cats live here, many of them fluffy Norwegian Forest Cats, and they are lively, well groomed and very sociable, strolling across tables and settling on laps. The cafe also keeps reptiles and other pets, including geckos, turtles and a very large bullfrog, which the cats like to study. Guests are shown the house rules on arrival and agree to follow them before going up. There is a minimum spend per person, and the menu covers pizza, light meals, afternoon-tea desserts and drinks. It is popular with families, so weekends can be lively; weekdays are calmer for a quiet visit with the cats.
J's Coffee 僦室貓屋
New Taipei City
J's Coffee 僦室貓屋 is a specialty coffee shop and cat house on a quiet lane off Zhong'an Street in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, about a seven-minute walk from Yongan Market MRT station. The original J's Coffee roastery opened in 2018, and this cat house followed in 2023, pairing award-winning house-roasted beans with reduced-sugar homemade desserts, sandwiches and pizza. Gentle pedigree cats roam the room, including British Shorthairs, Minuets, Ragdolls, Norwegian Forest Cats and Maine Coons. The shop holds a licence to trade in pets and works with a partner cattery, so pedigree cats are also offered for sale, and some kittens are kept in pens apart from the free-roaming cats. The minimum spend is NT$300 per person plus a 10% service charge, and children must be at least ten, with proof of age.

O CAT CAFÈ
New Taipei City
O CAT CAFÈ, whose Chinese name translates as "the boss is a cat servant", is a cat cafe on Chongxin Road Section 4 in Sanchong District, New Taipei City. Somewhere between ten and twenty cats live here, a mix of the owner's own cats and rescued foster cats, some of which are available for adoption. The cafe puts animal welfare first: the cats move freely, have their own rest areas and are never made to perform, and staff walk every guest through the entry steps and house rules. Children under 12 are not admitted, guests must wear clean socks, and strong perfume is discouraged. The minimum spend is NT$250 per person, and the dine-in menu includes fried snacks and afternoon tea sets such as tiramisu, with cat treats offered so guests can feed the cats. Seats are limited, so booking online is recommended.

The cosy shop is packed with cat trinkets, figurines and souvenirs, and a few friendly resident cats keep guests company while they eat. Coffee comes with cat-shaped latte art, and the kitchen serves simple meals, pasta and snacks at modest prices. It is a calm, family-friendly place to warm up on a rainy day in the village, and children enjoy browsing the cat goods. New Taipei City
躲喵喵咖啡館 Hide and Seek Cafe is a friendly cafe run by an older couple on Chailiao Road in Houtong Cat Village, Ruifang District, New Taipei City. Window seats look out over the village. The menu offers some of the most reasonably priced drinks in Houtong, from around NT$90, along with waffles, quiche, tiramisu, tuna-cheese toast and fried snack platters, and a Japanese menu is available. New Taipei City
貓散步219 Empress Gallery is a gallery cafe in an old house at No. 219 Chailiao Road in Houtong Cat Village, Ruifang District, New Taipei City. Founded by a dermatologist, it combines art, coffee and cats, and around a dozen cats live here, many of them rescued village strays, including some receiving ongoing medical care. A board on the wall lists the cats, and those marked with a cross are shy or resting and should be left alone; the rest are happy to be petted. The door is kept locked to keep the cats safe, so ring the bell and the owner will let you in, seat you and explain the rules. Each guest orders at least one drink, from about NT$100, and the small menu includes mini pancakes and two set meals. Payment is cash only.
九份奇喵食光
New Taipei City
九份奇喵食光 is a cat-themed light-meal cafe on the second floor of a building on Zhongshan Lane in Jiufen, Ruifang District, New Taipei City. Everything is cat-inspired, from cat-shaped toast and pizza to cat plates, cups and coasters, and murals inside and out show cats travelling to northeast-coast sights such as the Jiufen gold mines and Elephant Trunk Rock. Best of all, around five resident cats live here; they are friendly, chase each other around and often nap on the chairs, which can leave seating a little short, and there are toys for playing with them. The menu includes braised beef noodle soup, cream pasta, toast and drinks such as strawberry oat milk, at reasonable prices for Jiufen. It makes a welcome break from the crowds on Jiufen Old Street.

The cafe actively promotes adoption of the cats in its care. Entry works as a timed minimum spend of NT$400 per person per hour plus a 10% service charge, which goes toward drinks and light meals such as curry and matcha lattes.
