Soramachi Cafe and Rescue Cat Cafe Nekomachi is a rescue cat cafe in a 90-year-old house in Heisakacho, Nishio, on the corner of a five-way junction; the Heisaka Nishiguchi bus stop is right outside, and there is parking for 8 or 9 cars. The building also houses a small cafe serving fair-trade organic coffee, tea, cocoa and Nishio matcha. All of the cats, usually around ten plus a kitten room, are rescues up for adoption, and adoptions include a trial period. Entry is by a per-person donation into the box in the cat room, with no time limit, though guests are asked to share the space when it is busy; ordering a drink is optional. The cafe has taken in hundreds of cats since it opened. It is open from 10 AM to 6 PM and closed on Thursdays unless they fall on a public holiday.
