Purrfect ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌​​​‌​‌‌‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​‌‌​‌‌​‌‌⁠Day Cat Cafe on Bardstown Road in the Highlands opened in August 2018 as Kentucky's first cat cafe. Anyone can stop in at the bar for coffee, tea, wine, beer or cocktails, while time with the cats is booked online in timed sessions; reservations are recommended at weekends, on holidays and in summer. There are two cat areas: a kitten lounge downstairs and an upstairs lounge for adoptable adult cats, expanded in a 2025 renovation. All the cats come from the Kentucky Humane Society, which sets the adoption fees, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before they arrive. Would-be adopters fill in the Humane Society's interest form, meet the cats during a session and can often take a cat home the same day. The cafe also hosts events and private parties with the cats.

Paducah, Kentucky

Tortitude ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌​​​‌‌‌​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌‌‌​​‌‌‌​‌​⁠Cat Café is a cat cafe on New Holt Road on the west side of Paducah, and the only cat cafe in Western Kentucky. It opened in September 2024. The cafe acts as a foster home for 15 to 20 vetted cats and kittens from its rescue partners Catt's Cats, All About The Cats, Jackson Purchase Forgotten Felines and Huntingdon TNR, and the cats roam freely in the lounge. Guests buy drinks and packaged snacks in the front shop, which also sells gifts, and can take snacks into the lounge. The number of guests in the lounge is limited, so reservations are encouraged and walk-ins cannot always be fitted in. Everyone signs a waiver. All the cats can be adopted, and kittens go home only once they are at least 14 weeks old, spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated. The cafe welcomes donations of toys, food and litter.

Covington, Kentucky

Purrfect ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​​‌​​‌‌‌‌‌‌‌​‌​‌​‌‌​‌​‌‌‌​​​​​⁠Day Cat Café in Covington is Northern Kentucky's first cat cafe, opened in the fall of 2020 as the second branch of Louisville's Purrfect Day. It sits in the 8th Street Commons, next to Libby's and behind Braxton Brewery, a short drive across the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati. Anyone can drop in at the bar, which serves coffee, tea, wine, beer and spirits, while time with the cats is booked online in timed sessions; reservations are strongly advised at weekends, on holidays and in summer. The cats come from Paws Rescue in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the League for Animal Welfare in Batavia and Cincinnati Animal CARE, and all are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adoptions are usually approved on site, and the cafe has placed more than 7,000 cats. Events include craft nights with kittens, cat yoga and private parties.

Georgetown, Kentucky

Central ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌​‌​​‌‌​​‌‌‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌​‌​‌​‌​​⁠Purrk Cat Cafe is a coffee shop and cat lounge at the Georgetown outlet center, next door to Peddler's Mall, about 20 minutes north of Lexington. Founders Jennifer and Ryan Hoskins opened it in January 2021 as central Kentucky's first cat cafe. The lounge works as a foster home for up to 10 adoptable adult cats from the Scott County Humane Society, and it passed 500 adoptions within two years. The cafe serves coffee from City Roastery, boba, dirty sodas, macarons and baked goods, and anyone can visit it or watch the cats through the lounge windows without a booking. Lounge time is charged per person by the hour or half hour, and reservations are highly recommended though walk-ins are taken when there is space. Children under 6 can visit during dedicated Kiddie Kat Hours. Monthly memberships are offered, and events include yoga with cats and trivia nights.

Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Lucy ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​​​‌​​​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌​​​​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌⁠& Oscar's Cat Cafe is a cat lounge and cat-themed shop on North Dixie Highway in Elizabethtown. Its adoptable cats and kittens come mainly from the Hardin County Animal Shelter, and the lounge regularly includes special-needs cats. Visits are booked online in 50-minute sessions, each person in a group needs their own spot, and 10 to 12 visitors at a time fill the room. Everyone signs an agreement on arrival, and there can be no more than two minors per adult. Friday and Saturday evening sessions from 7 PM are for adults only, and parties of eight or more are asked to email ahead. Packaged drinks and snacks can be bought before a visit and enjoyed in the cafe area, and the shop sells cat-themed gifts. The cafe hosts evening events such as Cats & Crochet, crochet classes and tie-dye nights, and posts new arrivals and adoptions on Facebook.

Owensboro, Kentucky

The ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌​‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌​‌​​​‌​​‌‌​​​​​‌‌​‌​⁠Handsome Cat Café & Adoption Center is a cat lounge in The Thatch shopping center on Sweeney Street in Owensboro, between Art Lab Owensboro and Moonbow Apothecary. It is run by Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky (SparKY), a nonprofit founded in 2006. Opened in July 2026 as Owensboro's first cat cafe, it gives the rescue's adoptable cats and kittens a calm place to meet people, and only cats that are fully vetted, vaccinated and fixed are brought in, so numbers vary. Visitors pay a small admission fee and can book online or come in during opening hours, generally Wednesday to Sunday from morning to mid-afternoon. No food or drinks are served, apart from bags of Kitty Town Coffee for sale, but guests may bring their own. Adoptions follow SparKY's standard process and fees, and the lounge can be rented for parties and workshops.
